I want to nominate Topre Realforce PBT keys because they have quality through-and-through, but they are ridiculously expensive to buy separately and that is why they fail.
I mean... a set of key caps should not cost as much as a new gaming keyboard with Cherry MX switches ....

Not trying to sound like ripster, but they don't have a pbt spacebar. For that price that is the least I expect.

They may not be fancy, they may not get much love compared to double-shots, but I'm going to nominate the regular Filco caps that come in a separate package. Why? They're readily available, cheap, and come in a couple of different layouts, either blank or printed, without any of the hassle, waiting or complexity of these more comprehensive group buys.

That's not a criticism of group buys, but those are not everybody's cup of tea. The Filco sets are a kind of everyman thing, and do their job without any fanfare.

The Filco key caps are only switch protectors which need to be replaced by real key caps before the keybord can be regularly used!

Yes, exactly, much nicer font on the SP key caps!

Original Cherry double shots! While no longer in production, they're still among the best you can get for 20-30€ – or cheaper if you're lucky enough.

The 'vintage' red Cherry DS Esc that Ripster and a couple others managed to snag.

Oh and oh course, realforce/HHKB PBT caps.

I'd nominate Topre PBT keys but not their spacebar. It's ABS.

+1 on the Awesome key (it was my idea after all).

Or.............
