Looks like Wikipedia's general rule is to diffuse - that is, to only go for the subcategory - but they allow non-diffusion.
There's benefits to both approaches, and I'm honestly not sure how to handle it.
Edit: That said, I think Keyboards should DEFINITELY be diffusing, because of the scale. Think I'll work on that today, by removing the keyboards category from anything that's already in a subcategory of Keyboards.
