I always add stuff to other's articles and don't have a problem with others adding/editing those started by me. I just don't like cosmetic changes which do not improve anything.

I believe cosmetics are important too, otherwise I wouldn't go and insert gallery tags, or carefully tweak images to have the right size and fill rate. And then there's spell checking, copy-editing or just doing grammar QA.

There are all kinds of stuff which won't add new content or might have dubious benefit, but to me they are all necessary to have a proper wiki without eyesores.

Let me repeat my question for the third time since you are an important and respected editor of the wiki. Do you want some common consistency and structure, or not? And if you do how do you propose to get there? You lost a vote 5:1 on a minor issue, and are still stubbornly fighting a battle for reasons unknown. If people act that way even with only their single vote, there will be no consistency. I like an informal vote among active editors/members to settle these things. The other options are an ever growing mess, or a dictator.

I did not understand the debate as a dispute between huge images and thumbnails:

I want pics to provide enough information as an illustration of the text without being obliged to click on them. Thumbs are definitely no solution to that.
But I want pics not to occupy too much space on my screen as long as I have not myself decided to see them enlarged.

Between very small thumbs giving just an idea of what the actual pic could look like and almost screen-filling pics, I feel there must be an acceptable size.

This is mostly just my opinion, but I don't think the writing style people are using is very "Wiki-ish". Here's the first sentence in the article "wiki" on wikipedia.

A Wiki is a website whose users can add, modify, or delete its content via a web browser using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor.

Here's what you guys are writing like:

A Wiki is a website where people can edit pages by using a web browser.

I've gone through articles just making things sound better and read smoother... Like saying 'uses' rather than 'has got". Just a tip for some other editors.

Glad people like my articles. And my apologies (and thanks!) to those fixing my grammar/spelling, I'm not usually one to read over my work .

We'll see how much time I'll have this month, and if I can write any more serious articles (not to demoralize anyone ).
It takes quite a bit of time to do the patent research for the keyswitch wiki's, and find even hints at force curves and such (I really need to make some sort of force curve data collection device...).


Also.

I tried to do in-place citations in my articles. But found they looked like crap in the references section (and couldn't find a way to do multiple references to a single article...why couldn't this be more sane like in LaTex). Any suggestions here? I did use a few images that are not my own, and would like to properly reference them (the references are at the bottom of each wiki though).
Any thoughts on citation style?

I've used your Oki Gourd Spring article as an example to demonstrate it.
If you want to use the citation more than once, you'd just have it as:

Then whenever you want to cite that reference, you'd just use

Did 7bit steal my article? All of the revision history shows that he created the article, and made all of the edits and changes from when I first created it, even though (Unless I'm crazy... which is very possible), I'm certain that I wrote the article on the Corsair K90. Sorry for accusing you, 7bit, as even to me it seems ridiculous that someone would take credit for an article that they didn't write, but I can understand why someone would do this if they didn't want to give their keyboards away to somebody maybe they don't like much, if that is the case.

I'm probably just making a ridiculous statement here, as there might have been a rollback or something and all edits went in under 7bit's name, but I'd like to have credit for writing what I wrote: I don't remember the last time I read a book with an anonymous author.

Edit: Also, can we please agree that this is a padlock, and not a "Handbag"?

I was wrestling with a php 5.3 to 5.4 upgrade. Which works well. Unfortunately the APC 3.1.10 cache for PHP 5.4 didn't. So I reverted to 5.3, which caused some other problems.

Then esit the article.To upload images, just change the filenames and then save. Click on the red text where the image should be and upload your images.
