Where I went wrong was thinking iMav was implementing an infraction system, not a arbitrary InstaBan system.

Ripster whacked Harrison via the stupid spam plug in. (it's not very well written) he knew exactly what he was doing because he did the same thing to another user awhile back "accidentally". So the latest backup is OLD...and selective restoration is not possible. So Harrison is a casualty...

That spam plugin is now disabled. So be on the lookout for more spam. Ashort is setup to whack spam accounts.

Ripster is going to have to go. This last incident + his lying to me about it is the last straw. However, I don't want anything said or done to him by the mods. I will deal with him after the hardware upgrade this weekend (YOU guys grab the wiki content).

A LOT of that at Geekhack these days. I suspect iMav is worried I'd do the same so deactivating my account first was a smart move.

Send them on PM. I think wine was not important for the target demographic of GH.

I wouldn't call it "ragequit," it was "disappointquit." I'm not mad at all; just disappointed at the current state from where it came from. I deleted the subforum for damage control. Better to not have the posts at all than all the vultures shitting on the threads after they eat the carcasses.

I always associate Bradbury with science fiction I read as a kid. Bradbury for The Illustrated Man and many others. Also read Isaac Asimov back then - I, Robot amongst many others, Michael Crichton for "The Andromeda Strain", way back before stuff like Jurassic Park, Rising Sun, Congo, and Sphere. Then there's Robert Heinlein. Bradbury outlasted them all. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones that pop into my head from what seemed to be to be the golden age of science fiction. Seems like the end of an era...
