deskthority.net vs geekhack.org

I think that was one of iMav's other hobbies.

If I remember correctly, if you are banned at GH, your avatar and your signature are not displayed in thread views, and your title text is changed to banned. But, if you drill down to look at the banned user's profile page, the avatar is still there on the profile page and it had the text "banned" above the avatar picture. that could be what whiskerbox saw.

Word. That makes sense.

It wasn't keyboardlover though, his few remaining posts said 'guest' (i.e. deleted account)...

That was this morning. He was banned by iMav for a couple of days, then last night, ripster errantly perma-banned him, and what we might have seen was iMav trying to restore his account.

That said, some of his posts were deleted (the SP Group Buy, for example), so there was some speculation that he had his account deleted.

Sounds like I better start studying up on motorcycles.

Specifically I clicked the Ban button in a rather obscure section I stumbled across in my Mod tools thinking I could keep KL out of my subforum. Whoops!

This probably makes me the world's worst keyboard forum moderator.

Yeah, I'd gathered that. There was a user with a douchey 'Banned' above his avatar though...

Wow that was stupid of me, sorry. Yes to all, at one point I saw his avatar and his title said "Banned" like he changed it due to his exceedingly high levels of douchness and at another point I think he was actually banned. IDK.

I find iMav most rude. A couple of weeks ago lister showed me a link to a couple of IBM M4s that iMav was selling. I have been looking for one of these for ages, so I send him a PM and wrote on the thread.

He replied to my thread post and said that they were still for sale, however he won't reply to my PMs. He doesn't say on the add that he doesn't want to post out of America.

It doesn't take much to reply saying; "Sorry, they are no longer for sale/sorry I only want to ship to America".

Does someone else want to PM him'? See if they get a response?

I think iMav once said that he was sick of the pissing matches and he was almost ready to turn off GH. Maybe he just did...

Edit: nope, it seems to be back, but the site is very slow.

After all that, I wouldn't have been surprised. Maybe he's some kind of masochist. I guess we all are if we keep going there.

That lady in the picture above is looking for KL's account under the table.

The sad thing is my set of WASD lasered keys just showed up today, and I was going to post pics.

The sadder thing is I didn't have a keyboard to put them on, so I just picked the one that bothered me the most - a Noppoo. I got all the way done with the board save for the space bar when I remembered why that was a bad plan. Probably just as easy to mod the space bar at this point.

Spoiler - the black WASD lasered keys look very similar to the Noppoo ones. But with a consistent font size, better kerning, etc.

Conclusion: I like 'em, and it's what this board needed.

Permanently buying all types of rare Cherry Corp. keyboards. PM me.
Ah, I SEE!

Why not just ignore off topic comments. That's what I do.

Anyway, on the 10th Anniversary I congratulate Topre for figuring out how to do Red LEDs and discovering that you can dye plastic many different colors.

However their inability to make PBT spacebars like IBM did YEARS ago astounds me.

It must be a Japanese thing.

Now THAT'S a nice spacebar. PBT.

Too bad it won't get much use.

Maybe the use of ABS plastic on ANSI layouts is Topre Racism?

It is not that big of a deal because space is rarely used in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, unlike Latin languages.
