Seller should have auctioned them one at a time. The one pictured is old style without the Windows keys, this makes it extra rare.

Hmm, affordable... So why no one makes this kind of boards anymore?

EDIT:
Very affordable... 2222 per board... Okay...

Because it would devalue the second-hand market?

To boldly go where no innovator has gone before : always engage at full trust.
For $8988 I'd sell the V80-5000!

I will come clean now. I am the auction winner for the one that webwit auctioned here on DT. It now seems like a good deal :-). Maybe it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I might have started the craze.

What's stunning is that the 7K bid was given 5 days prior to auction end, and raised to 8888$ just a few seconds before the end. And then got overbidden. Someone really wanted those boards. Wow.

I would live to see that, and watch the buyer of this auction cry his/her retirement away.

I used to worry about Unicomp reducing my NIB IBM Mini prices.

No more.

That one is just for beginners. You need one with without Windows keys, and a numpad. That's what the real pros use. Only $2222!

Heh, I am good. With $2K, I could upgrade my 5D mk II to mk III or get some nice headphone gear.
