Camp Sites (Dutch link):
There are a few nearby in Oirschot (10-20 kms), but you would need some way to transport yourself from the camp site to the place to be, since I have no experience using public transport from those sites.

Basically:
*Coming by car? Camping.
*Coming by train/bus/plane? Hotel or hostel.
Feel free to mix and match.

I'd like to come as well, but will probably just return the same day.
So what's the idea, no cash, only trades, talk &feeling up keyboards?

And anyone that has expressed interest but not confirmed yet, know anything yet?
edit: couldn't stand the typo.

To be serious: I never put anything on my roof!

How could I drive at full speed through curves on the Autobahn (especially in the Ausfahrt to Best!) with a tent on top? Impossible!

Back on topic: I will ask around who participates ...

Seems I will be the only outlandish guy at the keyboard party. Everybody will speek Dutch and I will only be able to follow half of what they say.

I'll also photograph and record typing sounds of the keyboards that will visit the party. So expect some new simulated boards to ease the pain of not being able to show up. http://www.mrinterface.com/simulators
By that time I'll have my new version 7 drupal site ready which I have to redo completely because the upgrade path from 6 to 7 is horrible.... :-(

How many of those coming have already met eachother?
I'm thinking it will be pretty awesome to finally be able to link the human behind the nickname!

Actually,

I was planning on doing that, before you hinted... You just prompted me to be more explicit. How could I refuse a chance like that to further increase the reach of my keyboard simulators ??? :-)

Ha, scratch that; I now realise I did come across those earlier, just never realised you had to type on you physical keyboard for response xD
Spoiler:
The part that threw me off last time, and almost again this time, was that I got a 'hand' icon on my mouse only when hovering the two lines where the typed characters are echoed, while I was expecting to have a clickable area on the keyboard picture itself.

Now having finally been able to try it, I can't say I'm fully convinced it's actually working 'properly'; for instance the sound of the model M, by you described as 'too loud for my liking' comes across softer than the sound of the AEKII.. and the way the samples are played (I think that you've used around 5 at random for the regular keys, and recorded the rest of 2u+ keys by themselves, playing only their single sample every time), the space bar on the DSI Modular for instance only has one sample that is a pretty hard bottom out one, while the rest of the board gets tapped with much less force.. Like that it can't really express the way the board will sound in real life (paired with that I just don't even recognize the AEKII in it's simulator sounds)!
I realize that it would be a lot more work, but I'd say it would increase the usability/applicability of the simulators by quite a large margin, if there would be a setting for typing style; which would give for instance three options (1. bottoming out like there's no tomorrow, die hard rubberdome style; 2. bottoming out smoothly, like hanging back all the way in your chair tilted fully backwards just hanging your hands on the board; 3. only attenuating the switches without bottom out whatsoever, a very well-measured delicate touch).
A lot more work seeing how no3 requires an almost unnatural finesse ;)
and ofcourse since there'll be around three times the samples required.

And on second thought, that would be a shit-ton of work. Especially now I've just payed real close attention to how I type, and it fluctuates between the last two basically, with a harder rattle or clack in between; so recording a pure session would be 'fun'.
Guessing it's just the awkwardness of adjusting the volume on the receiving end (i.e. mine) and tricking ears into believing it's natural for keyboard sounds to emanate from speakers instead of fingertips. Well, coupled ofcourse with the 'always smacking spacebar' (I can barely do that on this grey switch if I'm seriously typing) and hearing your own keyboard underneath the rattle (unless using a headphone).
/wallotext.
Nonetheless:

Awesome initiative!

The last time I looked into the first post it was 14-20, but that had been removed. Why only 4 hours?
1300km for 4h keyboard party?

The idea was that seeing how he does not have a full house to himself, the rest of the household gets to settle back in by then.. But yeah, kinda off-putting for those that travel pretty far.
