Please shoot me (or, going back to a full sized board)

My girlfriend constantly complains that she can't sleep at night because of the noise that my SSK makes so I was forced to go back to a full size board temporarily. I've been using that SSK for more than a year and this feels horrible! Especially going back to MX Black which I used to like but they feel very very strange now.

I'll swap this monstrosity for that Raptor K1 CeeSa sold me tomorrow.

Anyone else have this problem?

I use a HHKB and I found the SSK to be too big. God knows what would happen if I pulled out a fullsize board.
I feel for you. :)

You don't understand nothing about women!

Use her switches and she will sleep well (afterwards).

Well, her fault for staying over, isn't it?
On the DAS website they sell ear plugs, only solution I see.
My gf never complained about the noise. Ok, I use Browns the most time.
Seriously buy her ear plugs. Or send her home/couch :D

That's gonna be hard. We're living together :P

If I even hint at the ear plugs she's gonna go mental on me about how she has the right to sleep in peace blah blah blah :P

Same thing happened when I suggested she should wear a night mask when she complained about not having complete darkness in the sleeping room :P

I'm in your shoes right now. I had a Quickfire Rapid with blues and the gf had a fit when I was typing on it when she was trying to sleep. I ended up selling the board now I am looking at something with browns. I need to get my damn degree so I can have my own office instead of having it in our bedroom.

Hope everything works out for you man.

It's already in the living room but the bedroom is right next to it.

Next thing you know she'll complain about your snoring...

Build a foam box with open front and learn to touch type.

that's why you use mx reds/brown/black because the only sound is the clack from bottoming out which sounds like heaven anyway to my girlfriend

Yep: I'm probably going to put O-rings on my reds, so the only noise is from "top out". Although I'm getting pretty good at not bottoming out (that's the benefit from using mechanicals for so long) I still do sometimes.

I always keep a spare keyboard (or several) handy, for just such an occasion. That at least justify's their existence.

Last I heard, CeeSA has just the recipe for that problem as well!

That booth though, seems like very vile torture, even for starcraft players...
