[Interest Check] Cherry Red Esc + RGB kit

On GH, hashbaz is running an interest check for Cherry Red Esc replicas and possibily a RGB kit. I hope this is a chance to get a ISO RGB kit, which hasn't benn available lately. So I'm posting this here, hoping that more people will show interest for the ISO option! ;)

Yes, apparently there is an ongoing debate on wether it's better to wait for GB4 or run separate single-purpose mini-group buys. Namely, if you order on GB4 you'll have more options available and spend less money; that will probably take longer, though. Much longer, maybe. So personally I prefere to spend a little more and buy from this mini-GB, if it ends up offering what I want and I can get it sooner.

The order thread is now open if anyone here is interested. There's an ISO option, and you don't need a GH account to order!

I can't seem to see the option for g80-1800's (small 1.75 right shift) - if there is an option for g80-1800's I'm totally in as I need some modifiers for mine.

if i understood it right (diddnt get an answer) the cherryrgb### sets dont have them (6 keys  )
the others do have them
wiki/Doubleshot_Replacements_Round_4#RGB_.28Red_Green_Blue_kit.29
and you can order them seperatly
Code: Select all
RGBYSH125    1    1   RGBY kit (1.25 unit Shift)
RGBYSH150    1    1   RGBY kit (1.5 units Shift)
RGBYSH175    1    2   RGBY kit (1.75 units Shift)
RGBYSH200    1    2   RGBY kit (2 units Shift)
RGBYSH225    1    2   RGBY kit (2.25 units Shift)
RGBYSH275    1    2   RGBY kit (2.75 units Shift)

be aware that you have to add the textcolor if you want colored keys instead of colored text (except for ROUND3)
e.g.
NOIR/RGBY/WHITE white on rgb
ROUND3/RGBY white on rgb
NOIR/RGBY rgb on black

btw. are NOIR/RGBY/WHITE and ROUND3/RGBY identical??

But those options do not have the Cherry replica font, do they?
How about the ARROWUP shift keys? Do they look the same as Cherry?
Would a NOIR/ARROWUPxxx/GREEN/WHITE in addition to a CHERRYRGBxxx kit be a viable option?

Personally, I have in my order a CHERRYRGB102, just to get 1.5 wide modifiers on the bottom row with white text in the Cherry font. Actually, I would have preferred real Cherry doubleshot caps in white on black, but they seem to be quite rare, and these keys in 1.5 width are not part of any Moogle kit either. (Yep, you read right: RGB because I can not find white on black.)

I have some German 1.5 sized modifiers I think, white on black. Would you be interested?

These babies are in production now, btw. I'll have some extras for sale in a few weeks, both ISO and ANSI.

edit:
Here some of images of the Esc prototype. We tweaked the legend a bit after this, so it should look even better (made it thicker and a bit larger).

Would love an ISO RGB and red esc out of the Extras :)

I'd have loved to see the small iso shift with just an up arrow. Not sure if thats authentic, but it would look nice.

The shift you see in the picture is a mistake by SP. Original Cherry ISO shifts are textless, and that's indeed what we ordered. They are now remaking them with the arrow as requested!

Heh, yeah I should have mentioned on a Euro-centric forum that the ISO left shifts are being remade to be arrow-only. I'll be posting a sale thread on geekhack in a week or two for the extras. I'll post a link to it in this thread when it's up, and I'll accept orders through PM here on deskthority if you don't have a GH account.

And just to be clear, I'm not ready to sell the extras yet, so hold your PMs until you hear differently in this thread. :)

Were these ever made with alt & control in 1.5 size? Or were these only ever made on winkey boards?

I have about 20 RGBYs and a bunch of red escapes. I'm no expert on Cherry keyboards, but judging from the pictures I'm seeing on google, I believe they will fit. The kits contain 1.25x Ctrl/Alt/Win with centered stems. The ISO left shifts are also 1.25x and centered, and the right shifts are 2.75x. All these are the standard widths for modern keyboards.

Sorry guys, I'm going to stick with the original time since I already posted it publicly on geekhack and people are champing at the bit for these. If there's sufficient demand I will do a second round though. The first round didn't elicit any real response from deskthority ... do you think people here are just not interested, or are scared away because I don't post here a lot?

I also expected more interest from people here, because this is the first RGB kit with a ISO option.
