It is not recommended. The solvent used for the lube messed up one of keys on my RD keyboard. I will not use it near plastics. I don't know how it would work on other things though.

I use TF2 for my bike, that seems to have Krytox in it!! Wouldn't recommend using it though, it's quite viscous.

So, how do you like the Krytox grease? Have you tried them on Cherry switches? Did you not like them?

When you rub it with your hands are they slippery? (GPL201 is very slippery when I rub it against my fingers, GPL203 is kind of slippery, GPL205 is somewhat like vaseline, GPL226 is sticky. I am trying to see what kind it is.)

I was kinda busy to play much with it, but I tried it on a single clear switch. I applied it between the contact leaf and the tactile legs, and it noticeably smoothened the tactile bump. However I think the difference would be less apparent in case of linear switches.

Regarding the texture. It's hard to compare, as I haven't tried other Krytox greases, but it is paste like kinda smooth and slick.



Based on this video I believe the finish line is closer to the GPL206 than the GPL203 as the CRK grease should be the GPL204 one.

The CRK grease might be a better choice.

The Fader lube is more focused on deoxidizing contacts(removing oxides so that electricity can flow more freely). I heard some success stories using the lube, so it should work fine. I do not know of its long term performance or whether it is better than the currently popular methods.

I might want some for my membrane board. One of switch do not register well unless I press it pretty hard. It looks like it would do the job if it does just as it is mentioned in the description.

No, CRK grease is not Krytox but rebranded Christo-Lube grease (manufactured by Lubrication Technology Inc), probably MCG-111.


Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've been recently experimenting with FaderLube F100 oil and Finish Line Extreme Fluoro grease. The grease seems to work better than the oil, but I'm not thrilled with either of them. I'm trying it on Cherry red MX switches and I can still feel (and hear!) the friction.

The Finish Line is supposed to be rebranded Krytox GPL203 or GPL204 from what I'm reading.

What do you mean by that, can you feel and hear it because it got worse or even though it got better?

It got better with the both lubricants, but I expected a bigger difference than I got. Also, I'm not sure why people bother to lube the spring, that didn't make any difference that I could tell.... is the spring really a friction point?
