[SOLD] Naked G80-1501 (MX-BLACK/NKRO/DE-LAYOUT)

Hi!

Some time ago I purchased this board to try the black switches and harvested the caps.
But since I already have a board with reds, they are too stiff for me. (Quelle surprise...)
So I thought, maybe one of you guys out there has some caps that will fit this ISO-board and could bring it to a good use.
It is PS2 and the case is a little yellowed, but the keyboard is fully working, as well as NKRO, tested with Aquakey. (I didnt test the cardreader, though :) )

I want to sell the board as a whole preferably, but if nobody wants it, I might harvest springs and stems from it at a later point. [In case I only sell the stems and springs, I will keep some for myself. That would mean there are 90 black springs and stems available.]

But lets see if anyone wants the whole board first.
Since I'm relatively new to the mechanical keyboard scene, I have absolutely no idea how much to take for this, so I would like all people that are interested to PM me with an offer. I also have to find out about shipping, so if you also PM me where to ship to, that would help a lot. (As you can see from my profile, this thing will be shipped from my home in Germany.)

Hope this baby finds a new home.

So long,

Mad

If you do decide to strip it.. I would DEFINITELY be interested in the switches with leds for a mod I'm doing! :)

All of the switches supports leds. So you can take all of his switches if you want to. :)

Excuse the thread hijack.. but you can just add a led to a regular Cherry switch?

sure, in the place of the jumper wire you can place any 3mm LED you want. You only have to connect it to the PCB somehow, but that's the same with the original switches with LEDs

Sorry, but I wont disolder anything from the board, cause I'm soooooo NOT gifted doing that, I would destroy 90% of it.
You would have to do that on your own, or give me another way to get these switches of the board.

(I guess pulling like a mofo isnt gonna work, or would it? Didnt try yet to keep the keyboard intact. If that works, I'm affraid I have to keep 1 or 2 switch with LED, too 8-) )

Cheers, thanx for the info! :) Connecting the leds won't be a problem I think.. this will work perfectly for me!

I would grab this board up in a second if it weren't so expensive to ship from Germany to the US.

To add a little to your thread:

The switches on this board are PCB mounted, so it's super easy to swap out the stems and springs. You just have to pop the little tabs on the side of each switch which hold the top and bottom housings together. Just use a dental pick or whatever. Once you get the hang of it, it's nothing. You could replace the springs with light springs from red/brown/blue switches to make ghetto reds. Or you can swap the stems as well very easily.

Plus, each switch on this board has a diode installed. You can see them inside the switch housing, instead of a jumper wire. That means this board does indeed have NKRO.

yet more to add to that:
You can't switch stems/springs that easily on LED'd switches - the LED prevents the opening of the switch and has to be desoldered first.

Yes, thank you, kint. Forgot to mention that. Those 3 switches will have to have their LED desoldered first. Anyone who owns a KBC Poker can tell you that from experience. :)

I feel ya. I have the same board lying around spare and imo it should be worth much more for what it is.
However those sell for 20-35€ maximum on ebay.de depending on the color of the doubleshots and if you rob them off its just a big board with ordinary cherry blacks and nkro and LEDs in the wrong place.
When I priced my naked 1501 in thoughts I imagined I'ld pay 10€ for it, which gave me even worse feelings for my black 3000 without caps and nkro. On the other hand:
A naked 1501 for 8€ shipped is still 15€, and you'll need (shipped) caps for that too.
Even another thought:
How much would one pay for the DS caps alone? 20 to 30€ ? So if you buy a 1501 for 30€ on ebay.de - one could still give the naked board away fror free without being robbed on money. :o
As for my board I decided to cut it to a gaming board for my nephew, the winkeyless those normally are makes them ideal for that. Maybe you've got some who would utilze a gaming board in your surroundings too. GLWS :)
