So, with switches worth around 40-45 EUR is would be a NIB Cherry whatever?

BTW: For your modification, as the under-shelles are still on the keyboard, why not putting the replaced springs and the rest of the switches back on that keyboard?

(Sorry, it's #1 at Google when searching for the board model number).

But you didn't pay him your prices, did you?
Around 20€ for each board, selling the dyesubs for 110€ more.
On eBay that's ok. Offering them here for that price, pure greed, imo.

Honestly I feel a bit sorry for those that feed off these communities. It's never going to be a landslide amount of money, maybe buy a new toy kinda cash, but the trade off isn't worth it. You could pull another shift at work and earn it without a sour taste. But putting a few hours in to help others, makes you feel better, and sometimes they return in kind. At least setting the right example, should be the only reward you need.

So to round up, stop bending over the community and do some fucking real work. :)

Which community did you have in mind? Deskthority or thinkpad-forum?

Well sure, it would be nice, if the keyboards were offered here at a reasonable price first and if they didn't sell, put on eBay. However, AFAIK no DT forum member is under obligation to sell their stuff at discount prices regardless of what they've got. where they got it from or how much it cost.

To me, collecting keyboards is a hobby that pays for itself. I usually sell one keyboard and end up buying two more! Instead of shrinking, my collection is still growing and so is my girlfriend's anger

Which is your reward. Problem?

As cheesy/retarded as it sounds, yes, doing the right thing is ultimately rewarding purely in and of itself.
Ofcourse the bonus is in seeing the rolling ball continue on.

No obligations I'm aware of either, yet, it's the right thing to do to not take undue profits. This is one of those that imnsho should definitely roll. ;)

I.e. don't profit over someone else's back. Make something earn something; but reselling something you bought for a fiver to someone for a few hundred just because you do know a guy that is willing to, while the first person didn't; doesn't quite jive with me, personally.

There are always two distinct opinions on this.
1. The seller is bad for making a huge profit on some lucky score he made
2. The seller can do what he likes and sell for whatever amount he pleases

Personally I am from camp 2. In my opinion, the source of the problem is not the seller trying to make a big profit, but the buyers who pay the ridiculous amounts. I have paid a lot of money for various items in the past too, but I have also landed some great deals (like a brand new $103 Realforce). What the seller does with their property, regardless of how they obtained it should not even be mentioned. I would not ask a complete stranger at a garage sale how much they originally paid for their old vacuum cleaner because I don't give a shit. I look at the price tag and I decide myself if it's worth it or not. Just my opinions :)

For the record, I'm not defending the OP, just trying to make intelligent conversation :)

Profit is over someone else's back by default. If the seller is too lazy to do their homework, it's not the buyer's job to educate them. You could say that the OP took advantage of the seller but then again who in their sane mind would want to buy 16 keyboards? That alone should have made the seller suspicious.

Cheers
