Quote from a geekhacker:

"My reasons for not liking this set is mentioned in ripster's GLWIC post. I am looking for TRADES ONLY at the moment, so please post here or pm me with your offers."

What did you mention in your GLWIC (?)?

It's probably because I don't see you reposting the same links every fifth reply on every thread (no matter how relevant) over here. :P

<protip>No matter how right you are, people get tired of hearing the same things over and over, especially when it's something they don't have any power to fix.</protip> ;)

I think the texture of their keys is one of the best out there, though. Feels great.

You don't understand SP keys!
:?

The textures increases typing speed by 15%!
:o

Because they are an ultra-lightweight design, switches equipped with these key caps come much closer to their specified force-curve!
:ugeek:

Finally, because they are so thin, you don't need LED-holes in the caps. They just shine through!

I have nothing against sp keys. I participated in many groupbuys. but for the main keys I more like the "clonk" of my cherry ds then the "clack" of the sp ds :-)

Sorry, I don’t give a fuck about the thickness of my Cherry keys either, and I do have thick dye subs.
Really, next to no difference in feel. #McRip

Usure?
Since I have a ds cherry (afaik) set that feels a *lot* different from the standard pbt caps that come on the mx11800... and frankly I prefer the thinner pbt over the heavier doubleshots, on this pcb-browns board. Texture does play a part as well with sound, but mostly it's the feel of the bump in the switch that diminishes with those doubles on.

Cherry DS are doubleshot→ABS and will feel different anyway. I don’t really feel a difference between Cherry dye subs (PBT, thick) and Cherry lasered (PBT, thin, but exact same profile, texture…)

that's a much better comparo for sure. Still, you don't notice the difference in weight?
I've only got this board, and not too long, but I do notice..

The weight difference is minimal, compared to the switch force. Maybe you can notice it, maybe you can’t. You’d have to test it double blind to prove it, which is impossible since there definitely is a difference in sound.

Spoiler:

Even if you can feel a difference: It shouldn’t matter at all. Key thickness is just ripster performing the McRip.

Headphones/IEMs.
Plus, I wasn't looking to prove anything; just sharing my admittedly limited experience.
So you're saying that in your experience capweight is fully irrelevant to feel (separate from sound)?
(seeing how caps twice as thin weigh near twice as little, a significant difference is present; if comparing the same material)

Basically, yes. Haven’t thought about headphones (ouch), might try that some day. Without I really can’t be sure if I’m just imagining things. Different materials feel very different, but the thickness? If the cap really is twice as heavy, 1g x2 still isn’t that much.
Sorry for threadcrapping. Well you got some free bumps.

Yeah, its actually pretty odd how sound can change your experience... I once put some foam inside my little keyboard (between the PCB and the case) and it changed the way the keys felt. Very funny experience actually.
