that does explain something :)
And I know what you mean; or somesuch: I take pride, joy and relaxation from creating/modding stuff too (the physical parts moreso), absolutely.

Does the pcb needs rewiring after such a mod? I've always thought about doing this to some of my boards, but I'm kinda worried about destroying them.

most of the time, yes.*
might not be needed if the board is nkro. maybe.

just open the baby up and have a look**; see any traces you'd be cutting that actually lead to something you will still be using (like a trace from right arrow to the controller only going through the numpad) those will need a wire.
*disclaimer: all theoretical, only mechanical i've had open is a dell at101w; so reference is very limited. even then the plate is blocking the view of the top half of the pcb so hard to trace properly.
**hope yours is pcb mounted ;)

Actually, the only thing that bothers me is if i can just rip the parts of pcb i don't need, leaving the cut traces as they are.
Deducting from off's post, this is true, however i need a confirmation.

Absolutely, provided the traces that are still present connect all the keys that you do leave on back to the controller.
