What do you mean by "Do you prefer direct shipping or should someone serve as a proxy?"?

Do you mean "direct shipping from you" and you're located in Europe? or "direct shipping from theferenc" who's in the U.S. and which would kinda defeat the point of the group buy!?

Some people wanted to serve me as a proxy, because of customs fees, or for local pickup.

- Direct shipping is from the US.
- I can serve as a proxy (shipping from Berlin, DE).
- Someone near you can serve as a proxy.
- theferenc can keep your stuff and you pick it up from him when you come near by.

I thought part of the idea behind a group buy was to help alleviate some of the wallet-battering caused by import costs, and get a lot shipped together - so a proxy would make sense in each zone. Has anything been discussed?

Yup same here. I'm confuzzabled: I thought basically the main point was that DT was mostly euro members and that there would be a single US -> Euro shipping for which we'd all share costs.

Anyway: I'm in for 7-bit as my proxy (you'll need to re-ship to a country very close to DE ; )

DK here. Proxy is fine by me. I'd prefer the fastest method, but whatever suits the group is fine

Yup, shipping address shall be in BE for me : ) (but really no hurries for me: I already got a my share of the loot from a previous Unicomp group buy ; )

Perhaps this will be a Christmas present? =)
