Permanently buying all types of rare Cherry Corp. keyboards. PM me.
Okay guys,

Some issues have risen. When I submitted the transfer to VorTex, my PayPal account has been locked. I now have to provide a whole bunch of documents (including the address of VorTex and all their bills) to them to get the account unlocked and to have the transfers move again.

Image

I am in contact with PayPal now and I am writing to VorTex to get all documents as quickly as needed, but for now my account and all the funds are locked by PayPal. I see now why people do not like to use them.

For those who do not know German, here is a translation of the above:

You can not:
* Send money
* Send money to your bank account
* Close your account
* Remove a credit card
* Remove a bank account

Please provide the following documents to remove this lock:
* Copy of your personal ID
* Proof of address
* Disclosure of bills
* Contact information of your supplier
* Solve all open conflicts
* Supply information about your business
* Supply proof of receipts

I am being optimistic and I hope nothing of this should be much of an issue for PayPal and they should be fast to remove the lock. But to be safe, I would expect another delay on these boards.

Don't want it be even longer until I get my board, will make me regret not just getting one from ebay!

It is quite bitter for me too, since I have taken so many precautions this time to not have any long delay as with the Poker. I had to pay quite a bit out of my own pocket on the last group buy due to messing up with the taxes and learned a lot from running it. I took extra care here and got these things sorted much quicker this time. I was, however, not prepared for THIS though.

Fucking paypal, always ruining up stuff. It happened exactly the same with the Novelty group-buy, but makes me wonder...why the heck they don't randomly contact us, the people who paid for those products? It makes me wonder why they are entitled to block a whole account base on...specualtion?!?!?!?!

Screw you, paypa, screw you. We need to find a substitute because they are getting too greedy and incompetent :S

If the whole world was using Alipay, life would be better.
Paypal is not good because:
- High fees ( from 1.5% to 3.25%)
- No "customer service" (there is some, but useless)
- The seller can withdraw his money as soon as he receive the payment, which make it harder for the buyer to get it back in case of a fraud.

Yes, its a pain. The problem is that there barely is any painfree alternative that works as well and is globally accepted. And that is why they have the monopoly.

Worst part of it currently is this:
Image

They basically want proof-of-shipping documents for the current run of RACE keyboards that you guys paid for just a couple of days ago. Obviously I cannot fill out anything there, which is why I have to sit through their support phones to see to get this sorted. Worst comes to worst, those in question might be contacted by PayPal too after I explain the situation of this being a pre-purchase.

Hope things get sorted out ASAP. In the past I never had issues with PayPal, so I am very surprised by this happening. I think I will have to retire from the group-buy business when this is done. It just is not worth all the trouble :cry:

Best of luck to 7bit for getting his current one going through.

Waht about each one of us sending them an email explaining the situation?
I'm starting to get tired of Paypal. "Bla bla bla customer protecion bla bla bla".
A few months ago I had an issue with a payment and they did NOTHING to help me. I lost 50$ thanks to their great costumer protection. Brilliant...

I am awaiting their response now, seems they do not handle any type of legal support on the weekend (yet they froze my account on the weekend). I explained the situation and let them know that this is a pre-purchase and I therefore can not provide any type of shipping documents yet. I also sent them all the other stuff. Only thing missing now is all the bills and shipment numbers.

If there is any help needed I will let you guys know what to do and where to send it.

Come to think of it, even the PayPal invoices I sent you guys indicated that it is a pre-purchase. Silly paypal.

Well, I just complained:

Buenas tardes.

prava

I don't feel like translating it right now so here it goes a google-translation:

Good afternoon.

I am writing you to protest how you manage certain "attitudes" that Vds. cross out as incidents with the general prejudice that entails.

For example, right now are investigating the account of sixty and you are required to show proof of shipment. I find it outrageous that they have to stick their noses in private transactions that have no interest for your company, with all the damage it creates. Would not it be more convenient, logical and easy to contact people who have transferred money to the "suspect" (like me)? If they did they could see that it is not random or delinquent payments and that everything has its rationale, but no; Vds. clearly prefer perjuiciosa make the best decision for all parties is to block a full account without any real reason.

And I say give me that if I keep using paypal is not because they have no esteem, but because it is the only tool that exists internationally. If they continue down this path, and as the competition ends coming sooner or later, lose much of its market share by pure and simple ineptitude, and has no other name to engage in harm's dealings and transactions that people make through its service, ignoring any logical reason that might occur.

Without more, a customer VERY disappointed with their service.

prava.

Well, with all the trouble with customs, DHL and now PayPal I am getting sick of it. It is a lot of stuff to handle for just one person in their free time. At least most of you guys are supportive and understand the situation - but if for example PayPal decided to freeze this payment after I sent it to Vortex, I would be deep in trouble since I could never recover these costs out of my own pocket. I can't really afford to deal with risks like these.

The very least I will do is probably to ditch PayPal once this is done. This is something I do not want to tolerate any longer.

I feel your pain sixty, PayPal is over protective at times, and then in other times it does nothing :(

Sorry to hear about this, but from the looks of it if Vortex can provide documents it should be fine.

We really enjoy your GB's but I also know how much time it takes for 1 person to do in their free time. Hope everything goes well from here on out

If your money is frozen, you'll be able to withdraw it after 6 months. ( that doesn't help but that's European regulation)
The problem with that payment is that you're "selling without any stock",and Paypal doesn't like that.

Good luck for the problem. I could have offered you to give you a lot of tracking number i have for any country of the world, but that would not help because the receiver name is not the same. That would make it even more suspicious.

If you're unable to provide what they are asking for or if they do not like what they see. They will just lock your account, you're allowed to file a dispute during that time and see what they say but if it's no good they will hold all your funds as of 6 months (from where your account was limited) afterwards at that time you can withdraw it to the bank account you have linked atm.

PayPal locked up $7,000 2 years ago, I learned to never keep so much in PayPal ever again. Sadly I have to keep using their service as it is the most common source of payment through out the web.

That's odd considering that this is not your first GB, they usually only do these type of close monitoring on new accounts, usually after that unless something raises their attention they don't check old accounts.

When i was 16 yo i received about 1500 - 2000 euros in less than 6 hours. At that time they blocked my paypal account and was unable to unblock them (need to provide invoice, need to provide id ... and so on).

I gave them invoice but they didnt care as it was in chinese. For my id... that was another problem. I was fighting, and fighting with customer service. No results. And around 6 months after that i received a very nice mail saying "according to european law... you're now able to withdraw your money to your bank account, but you're account is still blocked".

Not the same kind of stuff, but the 6 month rules still apply. I think that vortex and deskthority goup buy member support would help a lot.

But sending paypal email ( like prava) is useless i think. ( but very nice from prava ;) )
The fact is that you're selling goods you don't have. Paypal problem is that you're giving all the money you just received to another paypal account.

I think that problem can be solved, but it would take time. :( I don't like paypal and ebay....

Would be a no-brainer for me. Paypal is only brawl, what they do is illegal. The current legal status is they stole your money. You don't need to prove anything. They need to prove they didn't steal it, and they better, or there will be trouble. If they think you're guilty of something, they should provide proof and take it to the police. If however they don't have proof, they are criminals and should be prosecuted. You have proof of their actions. I'd have my lawyer write a text with this content in legalese and demand all the names and positions of those involved, and spam the hell out of them. Tell them you'll go to the police with these names if you don't get your money immediately. Demand the real names of those who reply and say your lawyer told you to collect these. Make it personal. If you don't get an answer within the hour, mail again. Remail. Remail again. I'd do this because their actions are not backed up by law, on the contrary, it's illegal in Europe. No, they do this because they think they can get away with anything if they are aggressive. They're right, technically. Because if they're aggressive cunts 100 times, it's more profitable than behaving like a trustworthy entity, and most people will still give paypal their hard earned money because it's "convenient". They are nasty by design. I wouldn't hold back and be very, very aggressive and give them the ultimate cunt mirrored back. The whores you are dealing with earn money and get bonus payments by being cunts.
