I tried the MX 3D keycap, the MX grab bag and the Topre cap, all sold out. I wonder how many they had, since it's supposed to be one per customer.

Dunno, I guess most of geekhack/overclock is subscribed to that newsletter. This while all these keys should be reserved for deskthority members! And IBAN.

Yea and even geekhack was and is in maintenance right now, so people must have acted solely on newsletter.

I wonder when clickclack finally gets to buy his own island. He even manages to sell the rejects in no time. He should raise his prices moar, you never know how long it's gonna last!

I have to admit selling the rejects including a drilled hole is not cool.

You know how much people are willing to pay for these... clickclack is giving them away for this price. Reject/hole? Extra rare!

I think it's good so people don't try to pass them off as normal ones.

I was chatting with a buddy of mine during the sale after he IM'ed me about the news. I kept adding keycaps to my cart to see how many were left and tell my buddy how many were left. So my chat log became a running record of the sale. This is how it went down from my perspective. All time Pacific.

5:38 PM Buddy notification "now! gogogogogo!"
5:39 PM Purchased one of each four
5:42 PM 50+ white topre skulls still available
5:49 PM both grab bags are out already
5:50 PM 17 Topre 3D left
5:51 PM 11 Cherry 3D left
5:52 PM 15 Topre 3D, 8 Cherry 3D left
5:52 PM 14 8
5:54 PM me: 12 7
5:58 PM 9 5
5:59 PM 9 4
6:02 PM 6 0
6:06 PM 1 0
6:07 PM 0 0

They were sold out very quickly. I was able to get one of each of the 4 items.

I tried directly after webwit posted it here, they were on stock on the website but out of stock when trying to order with paypal.
Probably the stock count on the website is not in sync with paypal.
Disappointed :(

Better luck next time guys. Personally I think the rare availability, the rush and the drama is part of the fun. Imagine these were available by the thousands. Your mother and your dog would have one. Sales were already limited to one of each type per customer, so there's not much they can do.

I think Click Clack shouldn't limit the keycaps to be sold on Elite Keyboards but well is my opinion and right now I may be burning at Geekhack for saying the same again :evilgeek:

Yeah EK only works well if you're in the US. Seems the logical choice though to sell the bulk. But clickclack has those special sales to fix that and give others a chance as well.
