[Photos] G80-3000HQMGB in G81-3000 Olivetti case

Image

Purchased a used G80-3000 with UK doubleshot caps, however it didn't come with a case. Grond sent two old Olivetti cases over to me some time ago.

I needed to alter the case as the it had no win keys and 1.5 mods. Little modelling saw removed those and cut my thumb pretty well..

Found the space bar didn't sit too well as the case blocked the mounts for the stabilizers. Again little saw and filing fixed that.

The case is a little yellowed but I quite like the look.

Sweet board, all it needs now is an intact sticker

Agree, the sticker doesn't quite look right on there. But it's better than nothing at the moment :)

Some of the caps are quite shiny and some have knocks out of them. But it's ideal for work! The 7 UK specific keys are in very good condition so all is good.

That's stunning tinlong bud :)

Made a slight alteration to mine, escape key has been switched with an old Amstrad CPC464 red escape key. And I've ergo cleared the alpha keys the mods, shift, return, tab, caps etc.

Will test it out at work tomorrow :)

Too bad you got the case with the ruined sticker! But I guess you may find a new sticker if you ask around here. ;)

That's more than I'd pay for it if it was brand new! Why would someone offer $225 for a used board?!

Hell. I've spent that much on a 50 year old Olivetti TYPEWRITER! We all make choices: like whether or not to work/eat at Arby's. ;-P

And we all make other choices as well: to be born rich or poor, for example. Or to have or not have access to drinking water. Or to have zero or several meals a day. [irony mode off]

I have an Arby's pic that's perfect for this, but it's on my computer... I'm STILL waiting on that replacement COV-RP450... Fuck... At least they sent it to me for free... But 3L of coolant still cost me $75 shipped...

I have to assume that NO ONE here has such troubles. Internet, but no clean water?? Anyway, I was just being silly. I have spent way too much on keyboards of all types though, and I'm not "rich" by today's standards. ;-)
