From Elecom's new-product list for November 2015:


Elecom M-DT1* is an ergonomic right-handed fingertip-operated trackball with thumb-operated side buttons+wheel. There are both wired and wireless versions.

This is exciting news, because if done right, it should be a worthy replacement for the legendary Microsoft Trackball Explorer. The button/wheel placement is awesome.

Their thumb-operated trackball (M-XT1*) should be getting an update called M-XT2* too (see page 7 in the brochure).

I wonder if the cheaper thumb-operated one is actually comfier.
