Are the switches exactly the same as the switches we have seen on the ICL/Nokia Data boards?

I've been using it for about a year. I think it took me about three months to get back to ~80 wpm. I type faster now than I ever did with Qwerty (about 105 wpm if I try hard). I don't know how much of that improvement is attributed to Dvorak or just touch typing properly.

It's a bit tricky, considering they don't have NKRO. You have to put layer switches on both devices, otherwise, some relatively common combinations will be impossible to perform. And it beeps like hell when you run out of 'KRO.

lol on the both of you. For me, it's the amount of pink that's the limiting factor. The VorTex caps seem to posses a perfect amount of pink, the example below does not.

I don't know why, but I find this combo to be totally awesome.

I now know why I was unable to get the cable/device working with RS232. If I would have read the manual more closely from the get-go, I would have saved myself a lot of time. The KM032MAA does not support RS232 as the main communications interface.

The RS232 connection won't power the device, if only RS232 is to be used, PS/2 needs to be connected as well just to power it. I don't know if the LCD modules need some additional power source besides PS/2, but it is likely.

I'm tempted to buy one of these damn cables just to get to know just what ...

Urk. I'm beat. I can't find the pin-out for the minidin 8 pin -> PS2 + RS232. I just made a cable and trial and errored 24 combinations, but no luck. Does anyone have one of these split Tipro cables and a multimeter??

kbdfr, do you have the pin-out for Tipros 8-pin minidin -> PS/2+RS232 split cable?? I've tried to puzzle it together, but it's not going great, and I don't feel like going the trial-and-error route just yet. It's real annoying to have to move the keyboard to a 32bit OS to reprogram it

I don't think that's necessary, if you experience drop outs or the like, you might have to shorten the cable or use one that's shielded.
