GB Ended in November.
Still no package.
Ordered 80€ worth of switches.
No reply to my latest emails.

It took me several year to source Blue ALPS for this build but I finally finished it.
- Switches SKCM Blue ALPS (sourced from a old non-salvageable board)
- Hasu ALPS64 PCB
- AEK plate modded for ANSI layout
- Costar stabs from old vintage ALPS keyboard.

I decided to contact him, since it has been over a month since we heard from each other.
To my surprise I got an email back with a picture of my package. So hopefully I'll get one soon in the mail.

Looking forward to R2 whenever it lands.

He did respond to me, we exchanged a few emails.
He said he is sorry for the lost package and that he is gonna ship a new package with some spare switches that he had left.
Last I heard from him was on 27th of February, he said that he's very busy and that he'll send me the photo confirmation of a ...

Apparently mine got lost in shipping.
I'm now waiting for a replacement shipment with a photo confirmation that it's sent.

I'm from southeast Europe.
Did not receive nothing yet.

From what keyboard are these keycaps?
They are beautiful.

I desoldered the switches. Gave them a denture tab bath. Lubed the stems with some dry Teflon lube.
Never realized that replacing the top housing improves ALPS switches.
Maybe I'll give that a try at one point.
What's the reasoning in that? Maybe the sliders don't slide that well in some old ...

Recently I finally completed my SKCM Blue ALPS Build, but the switches were in pretty bad shape.
It would be interesting comparing used Blue ALPS with NOS White ALPS.

Wow, never imagined you can put the switchplate back together after you disassemble them. After you break those two plastic rivets I thought there is no way of that switchplate being usable. So the switch housing keeps the switchplate together.

Spent the last weekend disassembling them, cleaning them with some denture tabs. Lubing the stabs with some dry teflon lube.
After the assembly and soldering them in the Hasu ALPS64PCB I realized that half of them are not ...

I have a Hasu PCB with AEK plate. But I want to put Tai Hao Alps keycaps on it. I was told that would not fit. AEK layout is incompatible with normal ALPS ANSI layout, which is weird since AEK ANSI looks like regular ANSI to me.

KPrepublic stocks this ALPS plate recently. Is this plate only ISO compatible? Because I can't see how could you mount stabilizers for an ANSI Enter key when there are no mounting points for the right part of the Costar stabs.

These look very similar to SA, just the dishesh look slightly more scooped. But not as big as MT3 profile.

Geez, it did not occur to me that the Apple AEKII would be regarded as a keyboard that needs to be preserved.
I thought it's the type of keyboard that was so mass produced it, that is pops up everywhere.

Finally found a NOS Alps keyboard after several junk ones.
Apple AEKII with SKCM Alps White dampened.
I think I'm gonna desolder these switches for my ALPS64 build. (Since the 2nd GB run for those NOS SKCM White Alps did not go through :cry: )

You would be amazed how a little bit of cleaning and lubing transforms a board/switches.
Had one Focus FK-2001 with some pretty dusty and mushy SKCM White ALPS.
I desoldered all them, cleaned them. Got some new springs, lubed the stems with some dry lube.
Now the switches are completely transformed ...

I got their Black, Dolch, Red Dolch set but Olivette never went back in stock.
Such a great vintage set but they never produced more of it, strange.
They got some new Tom Cat/Charcoal blue force colors, though.

Were the switches worn out and uneven in sound and feel?
I have a couple of used SKCM White ALPS and I plan to restore them. I wonder how can I re-bend the click leaves in a uniform way across the board to restore the click and tactility.

I've been using them for several months and they are my favorite switches, absolutely love them.
