Ah, that's crazy talk! You need more time with a Realforce. (Although if you're really sure about it, your call…) Yea. It was a short session, but the expected revolution didn't happen. Maybe over time I will apreciate it more, but for now I have decided to convince my self i don't NEED a topre key...

I had a random encounter of the keyboard kind the other day and actually got a chance to try one of these babies out (one of those Swedish variable force that keyboard company sells), but as it turned out it's probably not my cup of tea. Very nice keyboard all in all (great quality feel) but I think...

I toyed with the idea of a making a PCB for a while, but I've never done it before and it would be costlier even if I got it right so I'm pretty sure this will be hand wired.ماء wrote: ↑ btw you pland handwiring or with pcb?

Seems like 7bit is not at home for the moment so maybe he can't update payments just now, even if the bot can recieve new orders.Muirium wrote: ↑Roll a dice. Count that many final deadlines when they come. And maybe right around then the real waiting begins.

like broadmonkey design i think He seems like a stunning designer :-) I basically started with a choc mini and got rid of everything I don't use and added ISO. I'm sure there are plenty of similiar bords out there... First CAD draft of the case has been made. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r56...

Avenir is very nice and quite popular: http://www.dubhead.at/media/pics/00Avenir.PNG Avenir would have one of my votes as well. Similiar but nicer to the Futura Filco uses. If your going for Italic upper left corner then Source Sans might work as well. It's a bit condesed in it self (at least compa...

Sometimes taking time to think a design through is a good idea... I just realised that the original Round 5 still has 1.75 shifts left... That makes it possible to get rid of the questionable holes in the layout. The only compromise caps-wise is using up/down for page up/down and I can live with tha...

The only layout worry I can spot is you're using 2x 1.25 Shift keys. Those are typically quite rare as ANSI doesn't use them. And ISO kits only have one. I have a feeling the Swedish keys or the 1,75 Fn key might be harder to find... Buying two ISO kits isn't that scary after round 5 :-) I did a sk...

[WORKLOG] F75 - Custom 75% keyboard from scratch
After modding a keyboard it’s time step it up and actually build one from scratch… Since 7bit keeps sucking up all my spare money I have no idea on how to fund this, but at least the time taken to design it is free :geek: If I’m going to do this I’m going to build something that at least has the pot...

Thanks for the triangle cursors, but wouldn't it be better to have the "top" one of the row 4 ones as row 2 instead. Then the up/down one would have a different profile and you could make more combos HONEYB_CURSYM_GREY_R2.png If I'm not mistaken that would also make it two of the same key (since row...

Status update: SPH/BLUE is leading by 17 base kits,10 grey alpha kits and 9 blue alpha kits. Will there be some kind of cut-off when you decide which kits reach MOQ or will this be a standard 7bit rolling deadline until "everything" has reached MOQ? Also - would it be possible to add proper arrow k...

Should I go with alternating colors for the F-row by buying that extra kit, or go with the alternate color for the insert and delete rows by getting the symbol kit. Both are $16 and I can only choose one, so I need help deciding. Personally I would go with the alternating F-row but it's certainly a...

I tried a carbide router in a dremel, but I felt precision was lacking - hence the manual approach. It's still the problem of filing a square hole with a round file, and you don't want to slip too much and enlarge the switch hole too much introducing wobble to the switch. If your going to try the dr...

It's been a while, but now the TKL is finished as well :D The double sided pcb was a proper pain in the a*s to desolder so in the end I decided to go all in and notch the plate as well as change the switches.Tried using a dremel for this first, but it felt rather imprecise so in the end I used some ...

Nice pictures by the way. How do you like the internally dampened switches as opposed to o-rings? I have never been one to like dampened switches. I like them as loud and obnoxious as possible... The numpad is my first experience with the idea. Since you need to open the switch to insert em' it's n...

A new home (Ergo clear mod worklog)
Back when i joined this site I asked plenty of questions about doing an ergo clear mod and here are the results from the first part. I have a filco TKL + numpad combo I want to mod and for an easy start i began with the numpad. As far as keycaps are concerned they'll eventually be white/grey Round 5...

I'm a bit anxious to get modding :P and the only component missing are my black switches.
