So that means the Enter etc keys are not weighted less? Just slightly so due to the keycap being heavier? Seeing how those are the farthest reaches for your pinky, that's... weird, theoretically.

I have my force gauge - it's extremely sensitive but I guess I should have expected that.
Since I've got that I've realised how difficult it is to get accurate measurements without some sort of stand to control the downward pressure but I will try my best this weekend to come up with a solution

@off - None of the modifiers have altered weights as far as I know and I guess they don't really need them because they're not generally pressed often, but I see your point. It certainly would not have hurt to make them lighter too.

If you ever plan to offer this to the USA, I'm in. Shipping is an arm and a leg tho.

I herd some people use nickels to get a rough measurement.

The key word is 'rough'.
I want accurate measurements and I don't trust myself with coins and a shitty set of kitchen scales.

Thanks.
I have an Imada DPS-1 which is likely a fraction of the cost of that thing you linked (which looks pretty badass)

Well, for those curious, here are the results:
Image

Some notes on my method:
Realforce 104 straight out of the box and plugged into my PC.
I set the force gauge to freeze on the peak measurement and zero'd it after each test.
I took extra care to position the test rod in the centre of the keycap and slowly pressed the key down until it actuated and the keypress was registered (note: not bottoming it out)

I actually tested each key probably about 6 or 7 times before doing the three consecutive measurements - I noticed that not hitting the key right in the centre really varies the required force which I found interesting. Also of obvious note is that the keys int he centre appear to be closer to 50g than the spec'ed 45g.

I shall send the keyboard to dirge hopefully next week - looking forward to hearing your opinions :)

$150 but I got lucky on an eBay auction :)
The lower denomination gauges (250g, 500g and 1kg) are somewhat more difficult to find, but they are out there.

It might be necessary for me to go a few steps down on the list, as I will be away from 23rd July to 5th August. If the keyboard arrived in this time my mother could forward it, but I couldn't test it.

Moved you down two spots.
I just sent the board too. It fit perfectly in a DELL keyboard box which should mean it's $25 value shouldn't raise many eyebrows at customs, but I doubt the Topre box would have either.

I would like to join this if possible. I have tried the 55g switch tester from MrInterface, but would love to be able to try a variable weight Topre. I will be out of town from the 19th of August to the first of September, so I would opt for a very early or later slot.

No problem - I've added you to to the later slot. We can adjust as necessary if you're away when your turn comes around.

I'll add you guys to the list but I'm slightly adjusting one rule for future applicants.
What I had originally intended was that you had 10 posts prior to my initial post but I'll honour it anyway.
