All Model Fs are well made and worth something, inherently. But yeah, those ones are overpriced at the moment because of scarcity. Nothing like as bad as the Kishsaver situation, more like SSKs.

I think they might be more rare than an SSK. But like you said, if I was early I would be lucky. I do believe Cindy sold 3 for 25$ each a year or so ago. Now the only one I can fins for sale has a price tag of 520$!!! :x
When gauging pricing, ignore the outliers…

High and low!

I bet you're right that Unsaver Fs are rarer than SSKs. I reckon their overall demand is lower, too, however. An Unsaver is a big beast of a "space saving" keyboard, that you have to know more to know you need. (Tried explaining Model F vs. Model M to the uninitiated?) SSKs, meanwhile, are the ultimate Model M to many people. If you've heard the legend, you're in the line.

Mu, do you have an Unsaver? Do you know anyone that has one that is willing to sell?

No and nope. I almost did… check the link.

I'm back up to 60 keyboards. At least half of those were made 1985 or earlier - and half of those were bought new or NOS. The only keyboard I own that is newer than 1993 is the keyboard on my 2013 MacBook Pro.

I think I'll streamline and get rid of my five 90's keyboards - too "new" for me.

Impressive. I don't need that many, but if I found that many nice ones in the long run I would probably buy them too. ;)

Nobody really needs 60 keyboards. ;)

I just find it difficult to pass up a NOS keyboard from the 70's or a beautiful vintage keyboard I don't yet have.

I wonder how many keyboards HaaTa has. (probably too many to accurately count)

I think that HaaTa has enough that 32-bit floating point numbers can't express the number accurately...

What is it? What is it? I'm here fidgeting my hands like a nervous crack addict.

Anything beautiful from the 70's or early 80's you can send my way. :P

...then me and seebart get into a huge violent fight where both of us are killed only to find that Ascaii had no keyboards to give. With both of us dead, our wives sell our keyboards on eBay and Ascaii buys them all up at a bargain. Job done.

Post keyboard apocalypse fiction. Expect movies as soon as Hollywood spots the meme.

@Seebart. Indeed. Quit hoarding, and get exporting. I mean, he literally has a boat!

yeah I've seen the boat. The plot reminds me of...

Haha, brilliant plot, this calls for a kickstarter movie project!!!!!111111

In all seriousness, ive got several "younger" alps NIBs, several strange and interesting boxed keypads from the 80s (cherry switch and a few others), a NIB Wyse, a 1989 VEB keyboard from the DDR, and some stuff hiding in boxes in my cellar that i have no idea anymore what it is. Also, I am keeping my chinese language IBM :P.

I need to make a new sales thread and see what i can get rid of, i want to try and get down to 20-30 boards...."sane" levels ^^

I'm up to around 40. I just cleaned up my keyboard storage last night. I didn't realize I had quite that many.

I'll start selling them off at some point. Toys are meant to be used. My goal really is to get them all up and running on USB.

Vouch, though honestly at this point I'm more interested in projects than finished boards unless the price is right. I probably have quite a few years before I legitimately want to sell anything. On another note, would it be wrong to be buried with a keyboard? Realisticly though, I imagine I'll put in my will that my keyboards be sold to other members on deskthority or geekhack for a reasonable price.

Not a troll, no. The cheat looks really cool, but the youtube link for the ducky board doesn't work. Even if I type in the URl arranged correctly, youtube won't give me anything. :?

Sorry, not sure what's wrong with the youtube embedding. :/ Just search YT for "duck orion keyboard"

Not sure how it works for short youtu.be links, but for youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDE, you do

Code: Select all

. Probably the same for these, to be honest.

Let me try:

That Orion sound more like mx greens ... but there is some extras ... maybe a custom clicky.

Just old MX blues from a Dolch PAC. The acoustics makes it sound harsh
