I was searching Taobao for Alps keyboards and found this: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8681349198

It seems to come in two varieties, with white and green switches (light and linear, I presume?). Does anyone have any additional information about this board? All the info on Taobao is in image format which hinders the use of machine translation. Is this keyboard still in production or are the ones on Taobao used items?

And then there's this, the Aron "Ergo" board, also with ALPS: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8682 ... id=&pm_id=

Interesting staggering of the numpad keys. Oh, and the cursor keys. Still, it's nice to see that some manufactures have the guts to fiddle with the layout.

That top picture - how much evidence that the owner just doesn't care do you want?

Green Alps are like red Cherries. I found the complicated green Alps better, the later version is not as smooth.

I might have to give one of these boards a go. The first one's approximately 20 euros, the "ergo" one about 28. A 20-euro mechanical keyboard is like a box of chocolates, I guess.

Afaik they are a Korean brand. Probably made in OEM by strongman.

20 and 28 EUR are great deals!

RGB LED, man!   What can possibly go wrong?

White stems are classic tactile and clicky, yes?

Yes, though there's several variants of whites (complicated, type 1 simplified [a.k.a. Fukkas] , type 2 simplified [a.k.a. XM's], non-clicky dampened complicateds [as on SGI Granite and Apple Extended II]), among others. Blues and some grays are generally also clicky.

Just got a quote from obook for a ergo one, 60 Euro to Germany.
Anybody know if the switches are plate-mounted?

Pretty much all Alps are plate mounted.

I betcha if you RipOmeter Green ALPS, Ghetto Greens (Blacks with the Tactile Leaf Pulled) and Red Cherry MX's you get the same numbers. At least I think you would since I don't have a Green ALPS.

I object. There's a fine difference between the art of trolling, and a mere thread crapper.

Do not fear change. Try it.

I'm using a Green ALPS board made by NTC, and found that the have a very early activation point. A small push is required to actuate the keys and sometimes this cause me to double tap some keys. Are Cherry Reds like this as well?

Cherry reds are 45g right in the middle. I'd show a pic but I'm not allowed to any more.

I tried to order a ergo one via obook but apparently all sellers either only have blues/greens or are unresponsive :-(
Could anyone recommend a white ALPS board available on Taobao?

Damn that's interesting, especially for the price. Thanks for linking.

Did somebody order in the last five days and has found a seller that actually has them in stock and responds?

My buying agent has told me that none of these sellers ever come online.

Is threadcrapping like spamming a key?

I wish you wouldn't take our whatever beef you seem to be having with the operators of this forum on its users.
