The SurpriseBox Worldwide Trip 2

Posted: 21 Aug 2014, 10:42
by Mrinterface
I'm going to send a SurpriseBox(@) around the world for the second time.

The idea is based on this one :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_red_paperclip

The general idea is that you receive the bag, swap 1 or more items for something of at least equal value, take a picture of what you took out ( so don't ruin the surprise by taking a picture of what you put in ) and ship it to the next in line.

These are the rules:
1. Swap for something at leas equal in value.
2. Post a picture of the stuff you took out.
3. Send it to the next one in line with tracking. We still need to decide on what to do with excessive continent border crossing postage cost.
4. Don't put stuff inside the box to make the total heavier than 3 kgs.
5. Don't put stuff inside the box to make it larger than a full sized keyboard.

Note that number 3 is EXTREMELY important. Don't EVER post the box without tracking or you will be tarred and feathered. If you don't know what to do, contact me ( mrinterface ) on this forum before you do anything else. You have been warned(!!)

Subscription round starts today : 21-August-2014 and ends in 4 weeks at 18 September 2014.
If you would like to participate, post in this thread your location so an optimal route can be found for the bag.

The final content of the SurpriseBox will be auctioned to the highest bidder, the funds will go to the upkeep of the Deskthority forum.

I'm going to run the list from this thread. So as a participant I sorta demand that you subscribe to this topic, else you will not know when it is your turn..... ( it's on top of this thread, press the green + signed two-paged symbol )
I'll just post "NEXT"
And if the next one in line does not mail me with his/her address details within 48 hours, he/she is skipped.

I tempted to join but shipping abroad from Sweden can be extremely expensive if the package is big or heavy. Is there a estimate on size and weight of the package?

Ah yes, some rules ->

Max total weight 3kgs
Max total size : 1 full sized keyboard. A very large shoebox.

I'm in too. BE.

Question: Does the content have to be forum-related? or "anything goes"?

I suppose it should be keyboard related!

Looks like it would cost around 70€ to get it out of Sweden. I'm not that curious about the mystery :-)
