New Mechanical Switches? (Logitech Romer G)

Looks like Logitech is manufacturing new kind of mechanical Switches... or not?

This don't look like the cheap "Razer" (Khail) Mechanical Switches and are not Cherry, Topre or Alps.

What do you think about them? Better? Worst? Someone already tested them?

Are you sure they are the same switch? Looks pretty different to me, also they are stated to be linear, while the Omroms in the Logitech G910 are tactile. Here are some clos-ups of the Romer G switches: http://imgur.com/a/qKQod

Yeah -- I wonder if it's just because of the caps? They look to be pretty shallow. Oh well, even if it was a fault of the caps, it's not like you're going to be able to easily remedy that as I'm sure that will be some custom mount that isn't compatible with anything out there already.

It's certainly not exactly the same switch. But still, the similarities (also in the ad material) seemed striking to me.
We will have to see the real Steelseries product in the end.

Might it be the case that Omron also manufactures linear switches for other companies, like Steelseries?
The contact mechanism looks Alps-y to me and Omron made Alps clones...

SteelSeries product page for the Apex M800 says 3 mm travel and 1.5 mm actuation. Linear with 45 g actuation force.

Quite cool that there is new switches being designed, I like the variety, and I can see why these would be desirable for 'gamers' (users) who enjoy backlight; Cherry's design leaves a lot to be desired.
