LRET would be the big-ass RETURN while JRET is the ISO RETURN.
I've updated the Wiki.
Code: Select all
HONEY/STANDARD | 5| 139|USD|Standard kit
HONEY/TENKLESS | 3| 119|USD|Tenkeyless kit
HONEY/TENKLESS125 | | 99|USD|Tenkeyless 1.25 units kit
HONEY/TENKLESS150 | | 99|USD|Tenkeyless 1.5 units kit
TENKLESS is now a STANDARD kit without numpad.
HONEY/TENKLESS125 and HONEY/TENKLESS150 are reduced versions of TENKLESS.

Yep, just put in a Preorder #0015.
Along the way before the deadline, I will most likely modify the hell out of my order before I finally choose which selection to stick to.
Thank you 7bit for running this. Now I could make some keyboards out to look like Honeywells

These kits are pretty stunning! I've a lot to choose from too. Here's my current idea for my main keyboard:
- Honeywell Sixty.png (58.66 KiB) Viewed 16652 times
Thinking about the TRANSMIT key… 1.5 units? Don't know where I'd put that. How about making it 2.25u ANSI Return shape? Row 1 2u Backspace? Or even Row 1 single unit (like ESC)? Gotta have that key somewhere!
Also a single unit FUN key and a 1.75u FUNCTION key (to replace CAPS LOCK) would be most useful for my little 60%. (HHKB style and Caps Lock function keys.) A black 1.25u Enter would also be much appreciated in the FUNMOD/BLACK set.
But a red row 1 EJECT (to balance opposite ESC) would just make my day!

with a # ' -key in row 1 one could build a german hhkb with completly correct legends

by 7bit
Keys added:
# ' row 1 (HONEY/DE)
TRANSMIT 2.25 units in red (HONEY/FUNCTION/RED)
EJECT 1 unit, row , in red (HONEY/FUNCTION/RED)
FUNCTION, 1.75 units, row 3 (HONEY/MODIFIEREXTRA)
(will also be part of HONEY/MODEXTRA175)

Superb! HONEY/FUNCTION/RED is one hell of a kit.

can you combine some sets to lower costs? why a tenkless and tkl set
what's up with those prices anyway, way too high for row 3 sets, what about some moqs to encourage orders
any new tooling sp has to do for this round?

by 7bit
TKL is just for Filco Tenkeyless and TENKLESS is for any keyboards without numpad.
Prices are not yet fixed, but based on a recent price quote.

If I purchase TKL, I can use those keys for Poker 2, SIXTY, right?
Posted: 27 Oct 2013, 15:37
by 7bit
TKL should fit a Poker (you will have cursor keys and function keys left over).

You're killing me. What's the status on this?
I wanna make this but you're making this very painful!
Edit:

row 1 1.5u BACK SPACE
row 2 1u |\
row 3 1.75u ESCAPE or PANIC
row 3 1.75u RETURN
row 3 1.25u DELETE
row 4 2u SHIFT

Why can't you run a GB that is boring or ugly so I don't have to spend all this money?
Posted: 27 Oct 2013, 18:12
by hydrospell
First post! Made account just to buy this! Urgh.
Just posting to prove I'm a real human interested in this GB.
On the wiki page it says
Deadline: 2013-11-30
Does that mean I can amend my order anytime before that?
Also when typically is payment due for these, and how do I know how much shipping is going to cost?
Thanks for accommodating this noob!

Yes. Order juggling is half the fun.
hydrospell wrote:Also when typically is payment due for these, and how do I know how much shipping is going to cost?
My invoice says $7 for shipping. 7bit usually does a flat rate (€4 for every Cherry MX switch order worldwide) so I guess $7 is the same for everyone on Round 5. You'll get an email from the bot when you submit a draft of your order which will say when and how to pay. Well, eventually. Right now mine just gives an estimate. Early days.

Thanks for the help Muirium - got the email already. So exciting!!

by 7bit
Yes, right! 7 USD (is about 5 EUR), no matter how many key caps you order!
Over is the pain of low quantity fees* and 'shipping' costs* which are calculated according to the volume of your order by an obscure, partially logarithmical function, only known to the bot!

Hey 7bit was reading the R4 group buy thread over on GH - over 200 pages!!!
This R5 should be a breeze for you.

Oh, that's a Geekhack thing.
Round 2's pictures were only black & white, and you had to order prints at your newsagent when picking up the forum bulletin.
Round 1 was only drawn in cave art.
