Pumpkin keycap (3d print)

I had my pumpkin design 3d printed at shapeways

Image

The black one is black STEEL!

The semi-transparent is resin, very high quality. I call it the ghost pumpkin :)

The orange is standard quality plastic, still very nice, but resolution is lower (MassDrop liked it and ran a GB recently, if you are interested there are still a couple of days).

Here with and without backlight

The black one is really nice but it's too heavy, I probably have to remove some material.

And here's the video

The orange one's a winner! That's one cap actually designed to show off backlighting to its best.

I'd also say the orange one is the best!

the steel one is pretty killer tbh :) it would be nice if they could print with higher quality plastic for the orange one.

resin is the highest quality material.

I participated at the Massdrop Pumpkin! How does Shapeways compare to Sculpteo?

The black pumpkin looks really good!

Those are awesome. The orange one is so great, really love how the light shows through. They look so great for being 3d printed.

thanks! the orange one is on sale on MassDrop right now. Today I've put online the metal ones (steel, brass, etc...) at shapeways http://www.shapeways.com/model/2834011/ ... metal.html but they are in beta, I still need to verify the new stem (I modified it a little)

It looks like it is going to grumble "Muhahaha, I'm going to eat your tab key!"

Cute design... i'm also amazed by the resin quality.. how true to measurements is it apart from having a nice surface?

I seem to remember it has approx 0.25mm shrinkage

Got the PumpKey from Shapeways! The level of detail is great, i didn't expect such quality - especially the small thin line on the top is very small, but sharp printed. The stem is unfortunately very loose, but this can be fixed easily!

Here are three pictures, but you'll only see the eyes. I have no MX backlit switches here, that would be much better for this cap. Also an isolated ESC position is a must, to see the mouth too. Nevermind, i'll make some more pictures in the future.
