recovering (or not) an IBM Displaywriter Sticker

Hello,

I wanted to repaint the Displaywriter case. The sticker was glued to the case and I could not take it away without damaging the green paint under the sticker:

I have been thinking various days on how to resolve it. At the end, I decided the following:

1.- I get a paint as similar as possible to the missing color
2.- I buy the thinnest plate that I can find
3.- Paint the plate with the lack
4.- Using glue in spray, glue the sticker
5.- Cat the set to the size of the sicker place in the case.

I know that it is not perfect, but the alternative is to dispose the sticker. I cannot stand seeing it, I suffer a lot each time.

I need to coat it again. The paint is not 100% dry. But the result would be something like:

bonus track:

This is the paint in spray that I use for the case. It is somehow darker than the original, but if you do not have the two together is impossible to say that it was painted, isn't it shreebles ?

Try to save it, it's part of the display writer.

If I understand correctly, those dark lines in the first pic are actually translucent? Maybe painting them from the back with correction fluid ("white-out")?

Yes, they are transkucent. I will check this white-out thing.

It is too white ... I think I will continue with my strategy. Lets see if the colours match.

I just painted the back of the sticker with my lack.

It does not look too bad after all.
The trick of painting the reverse side with the lack worked quite fine.

BTW: I just installed the xwhatsit controler and all works.
I found a bug in the version 0.9 that I will report.
