Somebody asked me to check the pinout of a Genovation 683 keypad because he no longer had a cable.

Because this keypad speaks PS/2 and computers used to have only one PS/2 port, this little thingy was meant to be chained in between your regular keyboard (or even a mouse, in case of a combined keyboard/mouse port on a laptop) and the PC. The keyboard logo on the male PS/2 connector in this case means that it should be plugged into the PC's keyboard port.

Now for the pinout of the cable, here's a picture courtesy of Rob-T, the guy who asked me for it the pinout:

If it is hard to see, the connector has the following wires coming out to it, in this case from top to bottom:
  • Blue
  • Gray
  • Black
  • Red
  • White
  • Brown
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Orange
And here's finally the pinout, looking in from the front (mating) side:

Hei! :D I forgot to thank you  . I can finally repair the keypad. I'm starting right now, so hopefully it will be the only thing needed to repair :? .
