Yeah i just thought that might be interesting for someone there. Thats still pretty rare board. Also i just realized that industrial SSK don't have numpad partition on it?snoopy wrote: ↑Basically a nice board... has some strong signs of wear... but kind of gives it even more character. Industrial SSK 950$

I would be tempted if the price was somewhere around 500$.

seems like the industrial ssks with the blue keys don't have the numpad printings. the 'normal' industrial ssks have it.

Fascinating. I've just written to my contact at Chicony to see if he can shed any light on that — I'm wondering if Chicony took over Nan Tan's keyboard production when Clevo bought Nan Tan, because it seems so odd that Chicony started making Nan Tan keyboards, and under Unikey's FCC ID, and the keyboard changed to Chicony's preferred switch (Aristotle) instead of the Alps clones that Nan Tan was using.crunch wrote: ↑Chicony KB-6011 with Aristotle Cherry MX clone I think

Re the KB-6011 — Unikey is confirmed as a subsidiary of Chicony and Chicony have ties with Clevo. I suspect that they did indeed take over the mechanical keyboard manufacturing from Nan Tan, although this goes back longer than my contact has worked there and he doesn't think anyone there still remembers (being around twenty years ago!)

Interestingly, Unikey was previously associated with Nan Tan:

Alps? I can't find much about that keyboard (just a lot of old, dead links) besides this postively Cambrian thread at GH:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=4242.0
Pretty remarkable that one even survived. Here's the link it mentions, which is now dead but saved by the Wayback Machine:

Just a couple years ago, this would be an outrageous price. How times have changed. I've noticed sellers now listing any old keyboard for $300-$1200, things that used to go for $20. I tried to offer a seller a "reasonable" $200 for a keyboard I considered worth $75, but he turned it down instantly. He wants over $700. What a time to live in.Hypersphere wrote: ↑IBM Displaywriter Beam Spring BIN 250 USD. Fairly reasonable price. Apparently has a cracked spacebar, but otherwise appears to be in good shape.
I don't know how HaaTa keeps buying keyboards. He must be rich.
