What do you guys think?
Is it actually possible to pay somewhere to get a custom keyboard layout assembled?
Alt could be easily pressed with the thumb, Ctrl with the flat hand. I only press the Spacebar with the right thumb anyway. And am quite sure that the Esc is actually my second most pressed key after space.
Only Keys from the ANSI layout where used.
cheers,

The easiest way to pull this off would be with handwiring, I guess. But even then you really need some sort of plate or holder... Jack at olkb.co will cut a plate for you, maybe ask him?

Alt has no meaning in Emacs, Meta has, also Control. Super and Hyper are for user-defined commands.

ps: I don't use the "built in" commands with the Meta key not very much. They had been thought out by Richard Stallman, back when he typed on the Space Cadet keyboard and where probably easy to memorize for him, but not for me.

One way to get your keyboard is to use a tool to design a custom plate, like Swirl's; then, have it laser cutted, and use it to mount the switches and solder them using direct wiring. Here comes the hardest part, which is selecting a controller and programming it with your custom layout. If someone would like to build it for you, well it would be expensive. I suggest you to post it in the classifieds here, and at GH and see if someone makes you a quotation for building it.
