There's something very soothing about that horse clopping Topre sound.

How does this feel compared to your HHKB?

I definitely prefer HHKB. This one is a very good call though. Best alternative to HHKB if you need CTRL under left pinky and delete/arrows keys as well (and if you don't have $250 to spend for a keyboard lol)

Indeed! The more Topre keyboards are out there to choose from, the better.

Sound a lot like the HHKB, I like the sound of the all plastic Topre switch keyboards.

It surprises me to hear that many people prefer the feel of the HHKB over the Leopold (or Realforce). I figured that the 660C should feel almost the same as a Realforce, having a metal plate and all...
I haven't tried the Leopold but I did own an HHKB and the feel was just not as good as the Realforce. The all-in-one plastic moulding seems to give way to a scratchier, grittier overall feel. Each to their own though I guess.

(really don't want to derail this but...) really don't understand why anyone would want to press that key with the pinky, i can't even reach that key like that in my normal typing position - does that take some pinky-yoga or smth?

The folks over on GH are going crazy for this board. Many people prefer it over their HHKB, especially the people who were not fans of the HHKB arrow cluster.

The HHKB for amateurs.
The HHKB still has the undefeated mini layout for touch typing.
I can understand one using a tenkeyless or full layout for dedicated arrows for gaming and such. But this keyboard lacks the keys for those purposes, and is more like a HHKB with dedicated arrow keys in a random-ass extension to the right, and without the smart touch-typing layout which is the prime strength of the HHKB. I find it a cowardly layout. It would have been better if the up arrow was aligned with the enter key, with an extra column of keys right next to it. Would still be a cowardly mini keyboard for people who can't use a mini keyboard.

Well, Studiosushi did the video with my KB (well, the one going to a friend, mine was still in the box, that's a true friend!)

I have to say that the layout is really cool for me (I'm lazy, sue me) the feeling is AWESOME and I wonder if I should say to my friend that I "lost" the second one, to keep it for my PC.
Compared to my RF 88 UB, the keycaps looks the same (a bit more curved than your typical MX) and the typing is even better atm. Switchs should be the same. Both are plate-mounted, yet the feeling on the 660C is more "firm". Sorry for my english. Tired and 5 AM here !
Still love the HHKB feeling but the layout is still a problem for me (the backspace drives me crazy). I really think those 3 are the best KB on the market today. Yep, I love topre switchs !

The thing that no other mini keyboard can approach is the form factor and aesthetics of the white HHKB. Seriously, I just stare at thing half the day thinking about how beautiful it is. The symmetry, color scheme, cute little backspace. Although a left FN key would not be a bad touch. However, I have resisted pulling the trigger because I am saving for the µTron. The day will come...

I use my left fn key all the time, settable by dip switch. Left thumb down, right hand for cursor keys, without moving from the home row.

What keyboard is this, Webwit? Thumb based modifier keys and arrows as a function layer right on home row is just what I'm aiming for with my little custom 60% project.

You can swap some keys on your HHKB and assign a second Fn in place of left Alt or meta.

Ah, of course. I might sacrifice a bit of spacebar length on my design to get a function key in there, as I'm already addicted to my other modifiers on both sides. That or Control (or Caps Lock as it is known to the suffering masses), but thumbs are so much more adept than pinkies.

Ah, thank you. I don't know what I'm talking about. That might seal the HHKB for me. I much prefer to use my thumb for a FN key.
