Navigate here to get your bearings and participate.

Welcome /r/MK users!
This marks the first time an outside forum has been officially invited to the Deskthority Awards.

What is this thing anyways?
Deskthority members vote for the best in a number of input device related categories. They also determine the winner of The Deskthority, a special open category. Award winners will receive an exclusive Clack Factory Wingnut Trophkey. Vote in the final round to win prizes from our sponsors.

How can I participate?
You'll need to make an account on Deskthority. Once you do, you'll be free to vote in the awards.

You're just fishing for members!
That isn't our goal. Deskthority wants to promote community wholeness, not division, and an invitation to the DTAs is a good first step. Yes, we can be a snarky and critical lot. That's just part of our culture.

Minimum of 10 posts to win prizes?
We typically require a minimum of 10 posts on DT to win a prize from our sponsors. We're altering that requirement for active /r/MK users as follows:

1. You must have a minimum of 100 post karma on reddit to win a prize.
2. We'll select a random voter from the awards.
3. If that voter has less than 10 posts at DT, we'll ask them to message us on reddit to verify their membership and karma.
4. If we receive no reply within 24 hours, we will select another candidate at random (and so on).

Adjustments to this post's information could occur as things progress. Find the associated reddit post here:

So far I haven't received a reply.

+1 Very cool idea.

Never thought much about this even being a possibility.

I don't want to start a topic over there without mod approval -- it seems impolite.
If you don't want to start the topic, it would seem not right to ask others to act as a proxy. Give it a bit of time- the Mods there are a bit slower to act on things.

I think it's fine to use proxies, but I guess it's a matter of opinion.
