Welcome back to DT Mr. Duul. How's it going?

Also if any one is interested I have access to a bank vault filled with these. We normally use them as door stops at work.

Keeping door stops in the bank vault, now that's novel.

How did you fix it?
I remember having a conversation about fixing it but can‘t remember who it was with and why no one else was able to fix it. Would be nice to disclose what was broken and how it was fixed when you‘re asking for several thousand dollar for a collectors item here since people should know they are bidding on a repaired/tinkered item.

If you are remotely serious you should take new pictures and not just rip old ones off. Not only that you should take a picture with your username present and the current date, otherwise there is no point to this thread.

"Two things in this world can make life meaningful: having the strength to forge your own destiny, to live by your own rules, and not be swayed by the whims and wishes of others; and really sticking it to some stranger on the internet."
I don't mean to be an ass, but I think with that paint job, this kishsaver should go for less than ellipse's.
In which case I'd happily buy it, and just like me many others here, I guess.

It is in the exact same condition. It's currently in storage on a shelf and I will get around to some new photos soon. But nothing really has changed, if you want new photos then ask me what you want. otherwise is redundant.

Perhaps I should just list on Ebay for auction and see how high the price goes. would be interesting at least.

I am not that hard up for cash, hell if there is no serious offers on table I will just keep it and put it in a display case.

JP why so salty

I'm no kish-expert, but from the look of the pictures it looks like the thing received a spray can paint job.
I'm sure with better pictures it would show better and maybe I'm just mistaken, but there's not texture to that paint, which is something typical of IBM's cured paint on those models.

Then again, on ebay I'm fairly sure they'll rip it off your hands for double if not triple the price of the new ones.

What concerns me is that you haven't provided any details how the issues of this kishy have been fixed, instead you link to a forum thread that's titled "(REPAIRING)"

Anyone looking to purchase this make sure you either get a confirmation this thing is 100% working or just pay the price for a broken one.

The impression I am getting is that this thing is still broken and someone is trying to get out of a bad investment. And since this is a collectors item, I would expect a list of modifications/fixes done. This is one of the few keyboards that are almost impossible to break but if you DO have an issue with it that can't be fixed, I am afraid there's very little hope.
The heart of this keyboard being the PCB, there's hopefully no third-party PCB in there or any kind of tinkering done on the PCB. These things have proven to be irreplaceable ...

It is the original PCB, the spring switches are stock, key caps are stock, metal chasis is stock, the foam was replaced with brand new foam, whatsit controller installed for USB and got a new paint job.

The issue was the foam was too thick so I shaved it down a bit which was why some keys weren't registering.
I can take apart the keyboard and take photos if that is what you want

Seems to be rather unlikely that they are the original keys... Also you would probably wanna give it a whole new finish if you buy it, this colour looks horrible on the picture.

Though your right shift seems to be more original than the one in the other picture

That photo you keep showing me looks like it was taken in a swamp. I can barely see anything. It looks like there is this thick grime on the keyboard I wouldn't touch that if you paid me too. Looks nasty. not sleek like a bugatti.

I am not going to uhhhh banter back and forth with people who don't even got the money or anything to trade for the keyboard like I said serious offers only. You need moolah. You needs the clams for this beauty. Wheres the dough?

That is the problem here is it's a lot of finger pointing and mud slinging like george of the jungle around here. People got like vomit mouth or something. Need to go to the doctor. I am looking for folks of the 1%. I am looking towards the art collectors alright you see?

I am looking to sell to a fine gentleman with monicle top hat and eats caviar, he needs to be able to respect the keyboard and tuck it into his expensive bed with silk sheets.

I am not going to talk to peasants all day I got a business to run.

Fact is: the keycaps are not original even if you advertise it like that.

My keycaps are brighter and freshly buffed. It's like chrome caps vs rusty tricycle spokes. Amirite?

Look kid.. you gotta think big. you gotta think ahead. you gotta be innovative. this is the future. things are changing around here. You need vision.

I see stars buddy. My kishsaver is a superstar.

This is high end collectors item it's like a piece of art. No looking at it, no touching it, no breathing on it.

When you buy it it goes into a vaccum sealed glass case in your home to be admired at.

Ok listen to me.
PM you're address to me and I might send you some salty peanuts with a napkin.
That's if you want it.

I am going to sip my tumeric tea now and lay down I got a headache. My chef is cooking me my lobster bisque soup.

Oy vey.

Its almost worth buying it just to use it. Spill beer on it and pasta sauce etc etc.

I like to have nice keyboards, and i don't use everything all the time. But to have that and not use it is a crime.

I dont worry about getting my beam spring dirty, i just use it.

I use my Kishsaver pretty regularly, and for days at a time. No ABS to worry about yellowing. And no bloody spills either! That’s basic keyboard hygeine, for Odin’s sake!

Hey spills happen! As long as you clean them up its fine!

My 122 F has had many a spill as has my beloved novatouch, ( i installed them damping rings by the way , the are bloomin amazing, could not get them to stay on the big keys tho )

Both have been taken apart more than once to clean the PCB :D

No spills on my beamspring as of yet !

Can't deny that I'm jealous. Anybody wanna trade an iso indy ssk for a spare kishy?

There is something fascinating about old keyboards. Built for eternity they just keep on running with hardly any issues. While many modern hardware or customs feel like fragile things that you have to take care of an old board feels like a tank on the table which will accompany you through thick and thin :D
