[FS] XMIT Summer Sale!

I find myself between jobs at the moment. It's fine, and I'm fine, but this gives me some time to do something I haven't for a while: sell some keyboards!

Recall that a good chunk of my keyboard collection is photographed here:
https://goo.gl/photos/5phzWXQMQZ9jwcvD9

I need to get around to posting stuff, but in the meanwhile, PM me with offers. Make sure to include:
  • Three digit ID of keyboards (or keyboards  ) that you might like to buy.
  • Your offer.
  • Your location (within the US and Canada, City and State/Province, or ZIP/postal code. Outside US/Canada, just the country is fine.)
  • Whether or not your offer includes shipping. (If not I will invoice you the actual shipping amount.)
  • PayPal billing e-mail address (unless you are local to the Austin, TX area)

I need to be more thoughtful about my collection, and less of a hoarder, so let's hear some offers! :D

I've had a few requests about 066, the C.Itoh board. That board is no more! Most of the caps went onto 158 and the rest went to E3E. Sorry, guys!

I've had a few inquiries about my Industrial M as well. I'm keeping that one too. I may make some other Ms available. A coat of paint on a pre-1989 M makes for a really convincing almost Industrial M.

I keep getting inquiries about boards that I've either sold, or am unwilling to sell. D'oh!

I'll start listing some boards soon that I *am* willing to sell. I'm most likely to sell items that duplicate other things in my collection, or projects that I don't think I'll get to. Weird one-offs, and boards that I've invested a *lot* of time into, are unlikely to go at the moment. I'll be making updates to the OP over the course of the next week. Thanks for understanding!

Wow! It was an actual journey just browsing your collection; but, interestingly, I found no XT Cherry boards in it, is there any I was not able to identify?

Lordie, Lordie, Lordie, here I thought today will be another boring, working for the company day, until I saw this XMIT.

Your list of keyboards is so interesting and enticing BUT I have my eye on one truly unique keyboard that most here would never consider. Maybe this plays into my hands perfectly but I do not want to rip you off with a low ball offer.

The real horror here is that buying just one keyboard off you will not work, it shall escalate into several quite quickly.

Thank you for doing this in allowing us plebeians, an opportunity to own something rare and unique.

Hey this is all a up to you, no one is going to force you to sell something if it still tickles your fancy, it's your potential sale and your own rules that apply here.

Some clowns might even try to re-sell it on Flebay, which would be extremely sad because that keyboard meant nothing to them.

Trusting that most here would consider buying any of XMIT's keyboards for their own personal usage and not about making easy cash elsewhere.

Just wanna say your Xmit Model M (No. 19?) looks awesome with those weird, spiffy keycaps!

Have to wonder who made the replacement caps, they do not look like they came from IBM/Lexmark.

I'm not getting out of the hobby at all. But I do have a couple of goals here:

- thin out the collection of duplicates.
- pass along some boards that are relatively low on my project list.
- free up some space on my shelves.

Yes, I do want to focus a bit on board production, too.

For everyone who has sent me a PM already: thank you so much! I've received a number of them. Please, bear with me as it will take some time to sort through them and figure out what is for sale exactly. Plus it will take some time to gather together packing materials, work out invoices, and the like. I really appreciate everyone's patience here.

I think I may have had like one in the past, and passed it on.

You might try the extended list of keyboards from the 2015 mega-haul. I'm providing this informationally only, as many of these boards have been sold or otherwise passed on. This link in no way represents the current state of things.

I don't know. I received the board that way. I feel like at some point IBM would do custom dye subs for customers. But that's as much information as I've got.

The same as for any little girl: free, given these two conditions:

1. You may have to wait a while (about 20 years).
2. You will need to convince her to go with you willingly.

If anyone is curious, her favorite keyboard is our Selectric.

Little girls are sugar and spice and all things nice; this one is heavy on the spice :-) JK, to me she is a sweetheart. I first met her when she was still in diapers and too shy to come down from protective arms. That is, until the keyboard unloading started. Then she was right under foot, helping unload boards, 1 at a time. The next trip she was unloading 2 at a time. Definitely Daddy's little helper.

Another interesting gallery and again it appears to have no Cherry XTs in it. Most XT happen to be BS, SI or other less common switch type.

Keep your helper safe.

I learned that they are scarce, I have only found two key cap sets so far, one at Germany and one at Canada, the first very yellowed and of a thinner wall type than modern Cherry, the second pretty close to modern Cherry and I am typing with it now, no yellowed at all, just a great old key set that fits my needs just perfectly.

You may as well make an offer now.

The little mini 60% AEK chop down board is not for sale, that's for sure. I keep getting queries about that one! I feel irrationally attached to keyboards on which I invested a lot of time, and this is one of them!

This is an awesome collection.. and I am looking for an alps keyboard, hopefully I will get lucky this time. My first mech, was a 22 year old Acer keyboard with a clicky black alps. But now, I am dying to revisit a vintage alps board. It also coincide with my waiting almost 2 years for Matias' 60% and still waiting.

Wow, that's a lot of PMs! :o

Everyone, please bear with me as I get things in order. I spent the weekend setting up a better way of tracking sales, and will spend today and tomorrow getting shipping weights for a bunch of the most interesting keyboards and taking inventory of what mailing supplies I have versus what I need to buy!

Again, please do me a huge favor, and send me a PM with your PayPal billing e-mail if you have not done so already. You may not get all the boards you ask for, but once I send you an invoice, you've got a hold on those boards for, let's say, 48 hours, before I cancel the invoice and bill someone else.

There are a few boards that are proving to be highly popular. Those will sort of end up being silent auctions, where the best bid will get an invoice first.

Again, my specialty is keyboards, not volume sales. I promise that I will reward your patience with a really nice keyboard at a reasonable price!

I'm still getting lots of PMs - and now repeat ones!

Please, bear with me as I run through them. I've responded to a few quick questions but the bulk are still unanswered. So, now, I'll respond in the order in which they were received. Note that this means PMs along the lines of, "did you get my earlier PM?", will just delay sales for everyone .

I'm working through the higher priority boards that people asked about first, before figuring out what I'd accept for the others. Hopefully in a week or so, once this initial round has gone out, it will be as simple as sending me an order, me sending you an invoice, you paying it, and me shipping.

Common themes:
The C.Itoh board is not available.
I'm not selling my 3278 beamspring. But, I AM selling my Displaywriter beamspring!
I AM selling a few vintage Micro Switch Hall Effect boards.
I'm NOT selling my OG Industrial Model M.

Thanks for your interest! I'm overwhelmed at the positive response. Even though these boards mean a lot to me, it would mean more to see them in the hands of happy owners who will fix, use, and love them. :D

Patience!
