Hello DT!
Here is Vincent from YMDK and here is the second IC for our new 96-Keyboard. This time we want to offer something with an higher quality than before, something different.
We made an aluminium keyboard, with both aluminium and acrylic bottom and many options to add.
Name is still pending and will be engraved on the bottom with the logo

NEW IC HERE
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... Q/viewform
BASE KIT 1 - $150 (if >100 units, otherwise +$15):
* Anodized aluminium top
* Frosted acrylic bottom
* Anodized Aluminium plate (with switch top opening holes)
* PCB (QMK, different from YMD96, gold pads and higher quality)
* Stabilizers, etc..
BASE KIT 2 - $200 (if >100 units, otherwise +$15):
* Anodized aluminium top
* Anodized aluminium bottom
* Brass Weight (coated with electroplating)
* Anodized Aluminium plate (with switch top opening holes)
* PCB (QMK, different from YMD96, gold pads and higher quality)
* Stabilizers, etc.
Basically kit 2 is like 1 but with alu bottom (different design as well) and a brass weight, you will not have RGB in this case.
BASE KIT 3 - $260
As above but you also get the acrylic bottom, basically you get both the bottom of the cases, the RGB version and the heavy version.
Other options[/b]
* Genuine Cherry stabs instead of OEM: +$5
* Brass plate only (you will not get alu plate, only 1 brass electroplated plate): +$20
* Additional Brass plate (you get both brass electroplated + alu plate): +$40
* Extra PCB: +$27
* Switches, we will have many options, switches prices will be similar to YMD96 GB: 105 gateron $19.5 Cherry something more, etc..
* Soldering service, not expensive, still to quote, we are considering clipping and lubing stabs too
Name still must be decided, you can help on this
Shipping will cost like the YMD96 GB, affordable
For colors (plate and case), we are considering using the same colors of YMD96, these, but you can give us ideas, also considering Dark Purple.
Please help us in this second IC!
Note, we are in a different timezone, so we might not answer fast but please write below your questions.
Greetings
-Vincent/YMDK

It shouldn't have alps support, last PCB came without these holes supported on the PCB and also the plate should be 1.5mmMyoth wrote: ↑Definitely interested ! looks like a very nice kit, is there an option to buy a additional aluminium plate ? is there an option to support Alps keyswitches ? and when is the GB planning to open ?

Welcome - the kit is of competitive pricing and has filled a gap that is currently lacking.
Perhaps you should also post in the GeekHack forum for the reasons that:
Deskthority consists of mostly:
- those who love vintage keyboards and their vintage components and are willing to pay thousands $/€;
- those who like to revive or modify vintage keyboards with kits or DIY;
- those who like the technical aspects of keyboard and switch technologies;
- those who like to create keyboards DIY from start to finish;
- those who look around and want to sell vintage stuff acquire from junk yards but are cheap to buy anything in such a price.
The more successful group buys here are all related to vintage keyboards, e.g.
- Model MF;
- "Round" keycaps that imitate vintage keyboards such as Honeywell or Space Cadet.

96 it isn't 96 keys, it's 96% of full layout. It will support ISO ofc, as long as many other layouts (afaik the supported layouts will be the same of their old 96, so basically every layout)
