The only things that have come to mind so far are Darth British (some sort of crossover between Star Wars and Ultima) and Darth Quercus (which needs to be one syllable longer).

I got another odd keyboard which my secret source sent me a picture of. Does anyone here know more about this ADDS terminal keyboard? My source noted that there is a dial on both sides of the keyboard.

Today is a good day!

Had been having second thoughts about this (keyboards-f2/identify-this-keyboard-thr ... ml#p383561 - can't figure out how to do link titles in here) Sanyo keyboard and decided to buy it (20€ shipped). Turns out it's a clicky Fujitsu leaf spring board, 3rd generation. Strangely, it has a Siemens sticker on top, maybe from the early days of the Fujitsu Siemens cooperation...

The great thing is that it has a DIN plug and is natively AT compatible, so no need for an XT converter. It's built like a tank and works fully - very squeaky but I'm sure that can be mended. It's an immense pleasure to type on - a very light touch is required and I hardly bottom out at all, but I still love it, even though I usually prefer heavier switches. It's definitely unlike any other switch I've tried - a very unique experience.

What with the Victor keyboards posted above it seems that any Peerless-looking vintage keyboard (judging by keycap shape and LED shape / positons) that doesn't come with an N860-4XXX model number sticker will be worth a second look.

Can post additonal photos if anyone's interested.

Oh, and today's even better because I also got a Matias tactilepro NIB for another 20€. It's a hell of a looker and I'm keen to finally try the clicky Matias switches.

Datanetics DC-50 switches, maybe? Look at the Datanetics entry in the wiki.

In fact what I'm trying to find is what system did this keyboard belong to? The switches look a lot like Cherry MXs but that's not my concern. I remember this keyb was in a wood-fiber case that I had to discard because moisture degraded it and was turning to dust. It was back in '98 and I can't remember what the label said. I thought it was from a VT-100 but it isn't.

Like Cherry MX? I don't know anything that came from Datanetics that would match that description. The big Datanetics mystery is DC-70 — only Mike Muller would know what that was, and we don't even know if he's still alive (Meryl's in his 80s). All we know is that it was very low profile.

That diagram is outdated, although it's probably correct in most cases. Officially we still don't know the difference, but I posted more details here (that hardly anyone took any notice of, what a surprise there):

I'm still waiting on Susan and D'Milo to confirm best guesses at names, and at some point I need to dredge up what I can (since the wiki is just not being properly populated with examples, of any brand) and test the new theories and catalogue any counterexamples.

Type of terminal is most likely belonged to: HP 262x Display Terminal

Switches: Hi-tek linear/modular for alpha and probably most keys; Hi-tek "stackpole" for numpad and probably modifier keys. NOTE: The "probably" is just my extrapolation and cant be confirmed unless someone removes the caps themselves.

Pictures: These were provided to me by the ebay seller after asking for them. Caps are most likely THICC DS ABS due to the slight yellowing on the F1, F5, Break and Reset keys. Feel free to speculate on what the colours of the switches mean.

Is there any info on how the switches feel and actuation numbers/travel distance?

For the later dovetail series, total travel 0.140±0.020″, operating travel 0.075±0.020″. 2 oz operating force, 3 for space bar and alternate action (guessing that's force to half travel).

Feel depends on condition, as I recall.
