The fly in the ointment is the numpad 0 key – it has the unnecessary “ins” on it. If somebody has a 0 key without “ins” and it is stabilized with a rod (as opposed to wire stabilized) and wants to sell it to me, I’d be super grateful. :)

At my first glance, I thought that round knob thing was installed on the F122!

And that can be a magnetic coffee cream stirring platform.

I've used ThinkPads since the early 90s. My all-time favorite was the 701C with the butterfly keyboard. Thomas should do a review of it, there's never been anything like it. And it was a damn good keyboard too.

My (sort of) main machine is an X200s, pretty neat little laptop

If there is such a thing, it would probably have to come from an M-122. But I don't know if the M-122 used a wire stabilizer under that key or an insert stabilizer.

ClickMe wrote:$200 will buy you an average model M. From what I've seen, Model Fs sell for around $400. This one is quite unique, tho. Is it worth $600...? well, at least 3 people thought it was. ;) Just_Add_Coffee certainly deserves to be paid for all the time and effort he spent restoring this keyboard. To me what makes it worth the money is that it is much nicer to type on than a Model M, has a great layout, and even has extra keys for macros.

An average model M is around 60usd, most model F are around 150usd, your prices are way off

PM me! I have a very clean and hardly used silver label '86 model M. I'll sell it to you for a cheap $225 =)

you guys ... can't you see that restoring a keyboard is much more fun and less expensive than buying a one converted and all ?

I don't really see why you would pay as much as twice as much for the same keyboard when all the fun as been taking from it...
