SGI Granite - Alps SKCM Brown?

The SGI Granite usually comes with Alps SKCM Cream or White dampened, rarely Salmon. However, on the Alps appreciation thread, it turns out Mattr567 has a Granite with SKCM Brown Alps (pic related). Is this just a mod, or did SGI Granite keyboards come with SKCM Brown at one point?
