Within the EU, you should be able to use bank transfer. It should be free of charge. Note that I wrote "should" two times, though.. :p
Many sellers on eBay are quite accommodating, and bank transfer (Ger:"überweisung") is the most common on German eBay. If it is overseas, then you are f****d.

A little backstory: I try to avoid using Paypal whenever possible. I made a payment to a company in the United States a little while ago using a credit card (not really a credit card, I don't know what the hell you should call Visa Electron - the teenage prodigal cokehead son of the debit card?) for the aforementioned reason. But what do you know: the company uses Paypal to process their credit card payments. These borderline criminal, class A cunts are everywhere. Whenever I see their orange-yellowish-blue mess of a logo, it makes me want to seriously hurt myself.

I live in Finland, and this useless, cockless, neutered fuck of a country doesn't support credit card address verification system (AVS). Therefore, Paypal decided to flag my payment as "fraudulent". Well, fuck me and my bleached anus, they charge my card for the money, and then hold it hostage. What a mess. (Apparently this emoticon means I'm 'evil or very mad')

Are you absolutely sure that you don't suffer from Tourette syndrome?

User avatar

I'm not sure. On one hand, my words are completely voluntary, as opposed to Tourette's. On the other hand, if I had Tourette's, I'd probably enjoy, not suffer from, it. :)

Oqsy once wrote this poetry about Cherry MX Blacks:
I feel like my fingers are resting on the small of the back of a 21 year old Brazilian female gymnast. Smooth yet firm, very responsive, but also quite comfortable.

What about Paypal AND eBay.com ?
IMHO they can go fuck themselves with a retractable baton,
these MAFIA-goons will hold payments ransom FOR 3 WEEKS !
Not only did I have to watch the USD-payment devalue daily, THEY DON'T EVEN PAY INTEREST !!
I had to front the rather high shipping-costs, the 3-week wait also meant that
I didn't have the cash to spend I had expected to have, leading to inability to bid on some nice auctions .
As a result, not only did I not get the items (obviously), the seller also ended up selling most items at a rather lousy price !
But worst thing was : My wife wasn't pleased AT ALL !!!

I know, that happens a lot. I play a lot of TF2 (too much for my own good), and I use the same alias there. You can't imagine the amount of prepubescent dicks my rather ambiguous username has got hard. Good luck trying to get that image out of your head, good sir.

But yeah, you're right, there's really something about a woman that talks dirty.

Well, Julle isn't precisely Julie, and the Zoidberg avie is a fair tell. Besides, faking identity isn't trolling. Most trolls I know really are like that in person, too!

For a while, I had assumed that Julle was a Swedish boy/man. In Sweden, Julle is a commonly used nickname for someone named Julius, which is a boy's name... (not that Julius is very common, though)

Right on, FIndecanor. My real name is indeed Julius, as anyone who's ever done business with me here knows. An alarming trend in FInland is that people (read: assholes) tend to call girls named Julia 'Julle'. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's got the exactly same number of letters, and the syllables flow easily in Finnish. When you abbreviate Julius to Julle, you get rid of one syllable that's not very common in Finnish names. Thus, because of my nickname, some people think it's clever to call me Julia. If something ever causes a tear in the space-time continuum that destroys the uni-fucking-verse, it's this kind of dumb-fuckery.

Nah, people just assume the second L is an I, and then jump to conclusions. It can be pretty intimidating to get horny hat trade requests from 12-year-olds. Most of them ask me if I want to see their unusual item. Turns out they're not talking about TF2 hats when they're saying that. (For those unfamiliar with TF2: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Unusual)

Thanks a bunch, sir, it's very seldom I get to hear that. I guess it's considered "posh" or "nerdy" here.

I have to do that on my next holiday... Even if it's just to see Frankie Boyle on stage.

It's appropriate though, the only good thing I can think of is their eBay insurance. Their fees are grotesque.

Paypal fees are not bad, but ebay's are.

People overlook the value of ebay's feedback system. Flawed as it is, and more so now that sellers cannot leave negative feedback on buyers, the system really is a brilliant piece of social engineering.

PayPal's fees involving a currency change are offensive and beyond. I find eBay's fees moderate. Yes eBay's feedback system is quite flawed especially after they changed it a couple of years ago.
