Give me a break. Contact me by e-mail. Thanks.
I saw on the twitter feed for Kevin Rose that Ripster was bringing too much traffic to the servers so he actually had his ISP drop him

I don't like the sound of that. It would imply aliens were spamming deskthority. This is not good news.

It just shows that the aliens were able to locate the humanity's intelligence forefront.

It's funny how you can't even talk about it at geekhack without some person closing your thread without an answer.
Why would you not let people talk about one of the most known people of your forum and why you decided to ban said person?

No need to blush, it's a widespread, and fostered, assumption!

But ripster, no, he only (!) deleted all of harrison's posts.

I don't miss ripster.
It was a real pain to browse the forum and always stumble upon his postings with not much more content than off-topic pictures, meaningless videos and grotesque self-praise.
No question he contributed an awful lot to "keyboard science" and to spreading it. A pity he didn't stick to that.

You do realize that you could have just added him to your foes list right?

Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Personal messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators.

Why not let him back on, but make him a "foe" by default? Everyone who wants to see his posts will remove him from their foe list, while everyone else won't have to see anything he posts. Sound good?

No because you will still have to see posts from everyone else responding to him which will just result in the thread being derailed.
