Off-topic: Something similar but worse actually happened to a large US-based forum I am on back in 2011.

A Russian hacker managed to steal the domain name and the database with the forum content. The hacker cloned the original forum complete with all its content and set it up at his own server with the original domain name!
It took months for the real admins to make the registrar change it back, during which time the fake site attracted new members, ad revenue... as well as shitposts from old members who knew that it was fake, of course.

There was even a run of T-shirts. This is mine. It shows the forum's logo with an added red star and "Wolverines" as a reference to the '80s/cold war movie Red Dawn.

Now the crossed-over URL is again correct and it is the replacement URL that leads astray ... :roll:

A quick record lookup shows that it's being hosted at the same IP as deskthority.org, so it probably is a test site that isn't moderated at the moment.
