For I've been here for only a couple of days, already , many members PMed me, asked me for help or assistance finding certain models or buying stuff from Mainland China.

I think it's not a bad idea to open a thread here to post the goodies (sometimes baddies),hidden gems(sometimes craps) and oddities(sometimes just normal stuff but might be worth paying attention) I stumbled upon or dug out from time to time from online stores of China lest someone here miss the opportunities to get items he's been looking for.

If you are interested in any of these items please PM me, I'm glad to be your proxy to buy these things for you (if you trust me),or I can just send you the link, you could get the stuff you want through other approach or personal contacts. If you are looking for certain kinds of keyboards, you can also post them here maybe I can find it/them for you. Mind you that I am not the owner of the items post here, all photos and info are from original sellers.

Without further ado, let's just kick it off.

Noooooooooo! All of my treasures! I have pretty much most of these listings, and many more, in a notepad text file.

Seriously though, great idea! There are some real gems on Taobao is you know where to look. I recently ordered a set of the SKCC ALPS spherical caps, some of them are a little beat up, but for the price it was a decent purchase.

The model 925 is from a TeleVideo console, and I did look into it for awhile because I considered purchasing one. I believe they are Futaba switches.

Please post some photos of your Alps spherical caps, in fact, I'm looking for those caps recently.

Wow these are some nice boards that I rarely see listings for. How much are they asking for that Packard Bell with Blue Alps?

I just noticed they were Omron switches after looking more closely. They do kind of look like the drawing in the Japanese spec sheet in the wiki. That would be exciting!

EDIT: I think I found what the keyboard is part of. Check this out! So expensive though...

I have a keyboard with something that looks like Futaba switches a Sejin SKR-1032 but take a look at the housing of the switch, it does not look like a real Futaba switch, rather a dome with slider. :(

After going down the gigantic rabbit hole that is Fanuc and also Omron (seriously, look up fanuc products on Ebay, pages upon pages). ANYWAYS....I'm fairly confident I've found out what switch is in that yellow board. The Omron B2R-M1

Here's an ebay link to the switches being sold

Anyone wanna buy a few to test them out and maybe add them to the wiki?

@marshmallow

Daniel Beardsmore bought 10 switches of that sort, each costs him 25.9$ obviously the deal pisses him off and turn him anti-Chinese a little bit, but he is an expert on switches anyway, I think he'd love to add a wiki entry...

BTW, to those who are into Blue Alps, here is my very first Ebay listing, Yes, I'm selling the blue Alps switches desoldered off from the failed 6151N keyboard.

Edit:

Only three days left, if you guys don't act somebodyelse gonna get those Blue Alps, I hope some DTer gets the deal,so we don't have to pay GreedyBay 10% cut.

Well even $9 each on this eBay listing is a lot...unless it's more than one switch per order - the listing isn't very clear on that.

How can we forget IBMs or Buckling Spring keyboards, it seems there are plenty, SSK, M13, M5-2, M4-1(buckling rubber sleeve), Industrial M, 49/50 keys,122key or blue switch ternimal keyboards, you name it, but it seems no Model F AT left though.

Also, there are plenty NMB Space invaders and Silicon Graphics, Fujitsu peerless KB4726/4726.

For I am no Apple guy nor am I a Cherry MX enthusiast, so if you are seeking for certain models fall into those two categories and need my help to spot them for you,you have to tell me exactly what you are after, better with photos, coz there are tons of various Cherry boards and apple boards out there,

How much are the Reuters, NCR and 1800?

NCR would be pricy because of what looks like dyesubs, I think.

A Fanuc System P Model G sold on Yahoo Auctions about a week ago. I was watching it, but when I realised it wasn't a very interesting computer and could only be used for CNC routing stuff, I didn't bid on it. The last time I saw it, it was still sitting at 1000 yen; if I'd known about this website earlier then I would've bought it just for the keyboard!

Some of them listed have dyesubs, but those are usually even more. Here's an ANSI NCR with dyesubs:

Over $200.

The Reuters boards are anywhere from $70 to $100. The 1800 with Dolch is $128, if it is the same listing I have here.

User avatar

Yeah that Cherry with Dolch caps looks sublime - just love the quality of those doubleshots and the colour scheme. BTW Monsieur Nobody, the black board with all the colourful keycaps you're not sure about - it looks like a hostess keyboard or one used at a restaurant for taking orders...but I don't know anything about the manufacturer...looks like another cherry board.

I think it might be time to start hiding your photos behind 'spoiler' buttons - I have a very fast internet plan, but I can't say that for everyone, and this page is getting quite filled with images.

By the way if I remember correctly that 1800 with Dolch is an MY case the seller transplanted an MX board into because they did not like the original case.

I was wondering why the last photo in that series showed an MY label but the board above it had Cherry Blues - I just assumed it was a different board.
