Just came across this big, red stain inside my 5252 keyboard. Along with the cable, the backplate is roughly as heavy as an SSK! It squarely beats the Onmikey backplate per my information.
But that big red stain though.

My father did once acquire a radio (an old valve type so far as I recall) that had been in a fatal air accident, and was still full of blood. It wasn't truly haunted, but it did display faults as if it were. Very strange, apparently.

As long as it isn't BROWN and smelly, nothing to worry about but cleaning and removing that RED stain is a priority just in case CSI confiscates your keyboard, in a murder case and try to pin it on you.Chyros wrote: ↑Man, just reading the title of this topic sounds kinda dodgy xD .
ALWAYS clean (using acetone, bleach and alcohol) any older keyboards, so as to avoid any unnecessary incarceration .
Of course remove and incinerate the cleaning cloths as well and dispose of them far away from your location.

It is some kind of red dye by my best guess. It thins out upon contact with water. I'll try some kind of mild solvent to see if it will come off completely: it's been there since 1982.

Yeah it wouldn't be bright red if it was blood -- no way.
Someone was probably dicking around with a red ballpoint pen or something and it leaked into there.

Beamers are nothing to trifle with. This might be "Christine"...
Clearly best to either type on it very gently or sell it immediately

I'm sure this 5251 will end up in the right hands. Its owner will know its value.
