IBM 5170 plus Model F AT (Italian version) and colour display monitor:

€500. Not the cheapest ever, but it's a whole system after all.

Definitely a nice a find. Complete 5170's like this are sought after and are not as common as the 5150's. Also I can't imagine that there are too many of these Italian AT keyboards out there either. I am half tempted but the shipping might cost a small fortune.

Anyone have any idea what this is? Looks like quite a nice compact keyboard(except the dumb arrow key arrangement)

I strongly believe it's a club member mike52787's keyboard. His location is at south-west, Florida as shown in his profile.
And ebay seller's ID is mikeskeyboards located at Englewood, Florida, United States.

He posted in [Other news » Stuff you just bought] on 19 Apr 2017, that he got two 5251 beam springs at 114$ shipped. ( I was not aware of this posting at that time.)
Actually it was my deal. I found the guy who has them, contacted him, and persuaded him to sell those keyboards.
Right after the seller listed them on eBay, Mike bought them. All this happened within 1 minute. I was monitoring eBay at the moment, but could not buy them. I don't know how he could buy them so quickly. I asked the seller to cancel the transaction and relist, but the seller was somehow afraid of reverting the legitimate purchase, and probably paid a lot to ship them to Florida.

Anyway, I later found mike52787 bought them after I read his posting, [Photos » Fucking Beamsprings man... IBM 5251 score] on 26 Apr 2017. The keyboards has the same blemish as the photos I got from the seller. (Also the keyboards has broken plastic at the connector which also can be seen in the eBay photo.)

I PM'ed Mike and asked him to sell just one keyboard at the price he paid for. He acknowledged that he bought the keyboards from the seller who listed them for me. But he said he already sold one to another DT member, and he wants to keep the other one (not sure if it is true. who bought this?). And he promised to sell it to me when he wants to sell it. [from his PM: If I decide to let one go, I will give it to you for the purchase price].

Now he listed this on eBay at 700$. Why don't you sell this to me? I am really wanting this. You can keep the other one if you have.

I suspect ITW magnetic valve, being an old Devlin.

No, the second picture of the Devlin board clearly shows a yellow(?) MX-mount Mitsumi miniature mechanical switch!

Ah, he's put up switch pictures now. Funny, never knew Devlin even used these.

Stupid too, the mag valves are much better than those crappy Mitsumis :p .

Totally not worth getting then? Shame really, I love those small 60% looking vintage boards.

I always wonder if they'd be better with smaller caps like the ones on that Devlin post-office board - really it isn't all that surprising they bind considering how narrow the switch body is compared with a 1u cap.

This switch really has no redeeming features that make them even worth considering use. The video I did on the Chicony with them in is one of my sweary ones.

I love the actuation mechanism of those Mitsumi switches and therefore would love to use them for a custom build. I have a full board of those lying around and they are indeed very bindy. The tactility is really nice though and Muirium(?) even said it feels like a kind of "mechanical Topre switch". I don't have experience with a fullsize Topre board, only with a loose switch but I'd also say that they feel remarkably similar!
I tried to lube a loose switch but the one I used was some generic, very runny spray-on lube. It felt considerably better but still quite bindy, I reckon a thicker lube would vastly improve the switch but I have yet to try that.

Yeah, that one is online for quite some time now. A nice board but not worth it with European shipping imo. If it would be in better condition it would be worth thinking about as the nixie cases are pretty neat.

Got my "NIB" z-150 today. It arrived broken... screws on the inside were busted off which allowed the plate and pcb to freely slide around in the case, which then must have broken the divider between the function keys and alpha block. Super sad... contacted the seller to see what options I have. Anyone else run into this problem?

Damn, that's VERY disappointing. I had explicitly mentioned to the seller that these are much more fragile than they appear (especially the keycap stems) and that they should pack the living hell out of it...

I got mine today. It doesn't appear to be broken. The case around the spacebar seems to be loose (you can press down on it and it will give) but maybe that's normal.

Mine came packaged in its cardboard sheet, which was wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap and put into a shell of UPS boxes (quite thin), which was shipped in a plastic shipping bag. I don't know if it works or not since I don't own a converter but I'm pretty happy with it. It doens't make a sound when I shake it so I assume mine is fine. I hope you can get reimbursed for damages or whatever ebay sellers do these days.

Besides the pinging these green alps sound great.

The pressing down thing is normal, I've owned a number of z-150s and they've all done that. But yeah it is super disappointing, especially since it was new-in-box =( .

Seller hasn't responded yet, but I'll give him/her until Monday since by the time I called iand emailed it was already past 5 on the east coast.

We need someone from UK who buys the lot (I think UK shipping is free) and distribute it then.

If it gets desperate I have a cousin in Plymouth, but I'd probably have to ask them to send it all to me and I could ship from US (so I don't feel like a dick). Last resort maybe...
