Have these keyboards vintage black switches?
Hello, do you know if one of these keyboards has vintage blacks? Do I understand correctly, that the "C" in the serial no. refers to a production in 1990 and that all black switches before 1994 are the old, smoother version. I'm a bit confused, because in the "Cherry date code" wiki there is an alte...

[WTB] [EU-DE] Apple M0116 or M3501 ANSI
Hello, after a desk upgrade, finally I have more space and would like to replace my current 60% keyboard with an Apple M0116 or M3501. I will take those in any condition, as long es the keycaps and switches are fine. I would be very happy if someone could provide me with a new daily keyboard or a so...

Re: linear-modded Alps SKCM cream damped switches: spring resistance & MX equivalent
MX won't feel the same as Alps. Yes, unfortunately true. :( But the closest would be a silent MX black switch in theory. You probably do not know more concrete values regarding the pure spring resistance? The linear modded alps switch feels a bit lighter to me than Cherry blacks. Could Gateron yell...

linear-modded Alps SKCM cream damped switches: spring resistance & MX equivalent
Hello, at home I use Alps SKCM cream damped switches from an AEKII, which I linearized by removing the tactile leafs. I love the typing feel and would also like to build a keyboard for my workplace. For different reasons, however, I would very much like to make one out of MX switches. On this point ...

help needed: convert Cherry G80 to USB with ProMicro
Hello, unfortunately I went wrong converting my Cherry G80 with a ProMicro using Soarer's keyboard converter. Now, I cannot find my mistake. Maybe somebody can help me :). As it is shown in the pictures I have soldered wires to the board an connected them to the ProMicro: red: GND orange: 2 (=PD1, c...

It seems to have somewhat high profile, see this: https://www.candykeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2-1.png. I have seen people using wrist wrests with it, but I don't like that because it ruins the concept of a small keyboard. That's what I think as well. I don't need a compact keyboard just to...

buying advice (TKL/small ISO keyboard); VA69M quality
Hello, I want to buy a small keyboard with arrow keys. It should not be too high (as pokers are) to prevent wrist hurts. The keycaps should be MX compatible and the layout has to be ISO German. It would be great if the stock keycaps were of good quality. I waited for the chance to get a WhiteFox, bu...

I would like to take part in this round. :) Especially, I would enjoy to test those much discussed buckling springs. If the cherry was a Blue MX one, it would be even nicer . soarer: different assignment of key - single key vs. shortcut
Hello, is it possible to remap right command key to F1 when pressed as a single key, but use it as command when hold down and pressed with another key, so that it is used as a command + "second key" - shortcut? I hope you unterstand what I want: press command key → F1 press and hold command key and ...

G80/G81 profile keycaps: 6.25u space bar, off-centered caps lock
Hello, I wanted to put the (lasered) keycaps of my G81 onto my modified 60% MX Board 3.0 (G80-3850). Unfortunately the space bar is too large and the caps lock key does not fit. Now, I search for a 6.25u-wide white space bar with center mount. Additionally, I look for a caps lock-keycap with an "off...

Is it possible to smoothen cream Alps without desoldering them?
Hello, recently, I built two keyboards. One of them is a 60% keyboard with Cherry MX red switches. The other is a redesigned AEKII. The "problem" is, that the AEKII looks much more beautiful in my eyes and should stay on my desk. Unfortunately the cream Alps switches feel horrible and I love the smo...

Maybe it's interesting for others as well. I found a workaround: I defined a keyboard shortcut and use it in a macro to change keyboard language input from German (or which language you like) to Unicode hex input. Following this shortcut the Greek symbol is written by Unicode key sequences and after...

Hi, I don't know if there is a direct way to enter Unicodes in MacOS like there is on Windows. If you know one, you could write macros for Soarer's controller that use that. That's the reason for why I'm asking. Macros would be a really easy and neat solution. Any other ideas on how to realize it w...

soarer Greek layer
Hello,
I use Soarer's keyboard controller firmware to program my keyboard. Could you recommend me a way to add a layer with Greek symbols while system language is German? ANSII code input is not possible because it is used in Mac OS.
Thank you.
