Re: Zenith Z-150 Restoration; Conversion

The saga continues... -------- Sorry about the lack of updates - I had to put this project on hold for others such as a guitar that I needed to finish assembling. -------- The Isopropyl alcohol arrived today so I decided to start cleaning/lubing the switches. I first poured some IPA onto the switch...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Regarding the Future FX-30: It arrived today so I took the back off to check the PCB for information. The rear side is branded with Cortron and the top side is branded Future Computers (GSK 8410). The bottom plastic (ABS) plate is what I can only describe as unnecessarily fucking thick. It measures ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

I guess I've seen seen the same model before then - it looks very familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

I recently bought this on ebay because it has ITW Magnetic Valves but other than that, there seems to be no information on it. The model is Future Computers FX30. Has anyone seen anything similar to this? I'm assuming it's a re-branded keyboard but I can't quite figure out which model.

2 interesting keyboards in this lot https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/o324638687
First one looks to have very good keycaps and my gut says Cherry/Alps.
Second one is a beauty too.
I love the keycaps on that NEC - shame it (almost certainly) uses NMB dome with sliders.

Re: Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?

How much would an old terminal board with ITW Low Profile Magnetic Valve switches be worth? I currently don't have any pictures but I will upload some in a few days once I get it.

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

That's a Unitech K959 keyboard by the looks of it. I had a Walters branded one with MX blues. Nice keyboards but I'm not a fan of any MX so I couldn't get along with it. For the price, that is pretty decent.

Thanks everyone! I will report back at some point when the keyboard is finished (or when I've managed to mess it up and need help  )

Re: Adding a beeper/buzzer to a Teensy/TMK

Thanks, I will take a look at that. I think the beeper I have might require something to drive it, but I admittedly haven't looked into it much. I will check out the datasheet tomorrow. I'm more curious how I can get a signal from the Teensy whenever I press a key but I suppose the link you supplied...

Adding a beeper/buzzer to a Teensy/TMK

Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of doing a Zenith Z-150 handwire/restoration and want to include the original built in beeper. There's a good chance I'd need some external circuitry to properly drive it as it might not be within the specifications of what a Teensy can drive. I'm wondering ...

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

I've only ever had UK F's so I can't give my opinion on that however I'd agree that mine was tight with 2mm foam and EXTREMELY tight with 3mm foam. I don't even really like the keyfeel that much hence why I sold the first one right after finishing the restoration.

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

I bought 2 model F XT's about 2-3 months ago. One is still in pieces scattered across my house waiting for me to restore (which will probably be never/not for a long time)... Good luck.

Re: Zenith Z-150 Restoration; Conversion

All the switches have been disassembled fully and the housings washed in warm soapy water to try to remove the strange white residue. After wiping with Q tips, the residue has barely come off so I will try with some isoporopyl alcohol when I get some. 20190513_152627.jpg I've also worked on a custom...

Re: Zenith Z-150 Restoration; Conversion

Finally got the PCB desoldered - what a pain. Some legs decided to randomly snap of while desoldering which was probably due to the liquid damage visible on the plate and PCB however there is enough material for me to solder to when handwiring.

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

AP0115 Canon typewriter caps? Just picked up an S-16 on ebay and will hopefully be arriving later this week. How do they feel? (is the profile noticeably higher?) I'm thinking about putting them on my Z-150. Haha, coincidentally, these caps came off a S-16! I have mixed feelings on these caps. The ...

Re: Tipro (MX blacks), Free G81 parts + more!

They have a PS/2 port however you will need to use a 32 bit OS/virtual box if you want to reprogram the keyboard over PS/2 (I think?) Ok. Thanks. To program a Tipro over PS/2 requires a 32 bit OS,virtual machines will not work, see https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18949 for the work aroun...
