Re: What gaming mice work with linux?

I agree with everything Devkol said. I’m also a very happy Roccat Kona Pure owner. A great part part of the Roccat Kona (watch out, that’s not the case with cheaper Roccat mice) is that the mice settings and macros are programmed *into* the mouse itself, so you just need to programme it once somewhe...

After playing with it a bit more, I can say that the split layout is very much useful and grew more used to the modifiers. If I were to adopt it, I would still rework the thumb cluster. Looking at e.g. Keyboard.io, it seems they have a good idea going there. As for the layout, this is the one I rece...

Concerning the AltGr key: I don't know whether Rimrul has changed the location of the AltGr key, but Daniel had the board beforehand and As a altgr-intl layout user I'm currently contemplating where I would put AltGr to enable the third layer. Probably bottom most single unit key. Have you tried th...

I confirm that I just received it from Rimrul and it is in great condition. First impressions: - surprinisgly well built for what was described as a cheap version - I‘m using it as I received it, but with a Neo2 layout set up in Linux (software-side) - I miss the function row, is there a modifier to...

I'm not that concerned about the learning curve (although I probably should be), but more about the fact (?) that I might have to use an extra layer just to type normal (German) letters (e.g. umlauts or ß), because the keyboard lacks the number of alphanumeric keys a normal ISO board has, which wou...

Matias Quiet Click – because it carries on the Alps tradition and is a great compromise between your own touch (tactility) and the sanity of those around you (dampened up and down stroke)

IMHO, based on my own experience with RSI – and this will probably be an unpopular opinion – the biggest improvement is to simply learn to properly touch-type, so you minimize the movement of the joints that you stress. Even better if you get an ergonomic layout. For me, what got rid of RSI was when...

Two months ago, the company I now work for was cool enough to let me buy a Matias Mini Quiet Pro as my work keyboard. And I have to say, I love it! I’m so happy to have taken the leap of faith and got this dampened Alps board as my first mechanical keyboard, instead of getting a Cherry MX, which I t...

I’m currently on Matias Mini Quiet Pro, but quite liked the layout of the Kinesis Advantage a colleague borrowed me for a week.

Ravcore Edge – an affordable Kailh Blue keyboard

I was just picking up a μSD card and a fan for my new ARM server, when I saw a few mechanical keyboards in the shop and just needed to goof around with them a bit. Amongst the standard gaming bunch, this one stood out – a Ravcore Edge (short for Raven Core, it seems) : https://www.ravcore.com/wp-con...

Is this tour still open?

If so, I’d love to try an Alps (other than the ones we had in the computer museum) keyboard …and a split one to boot! I’m pretty sure I need a TKL or even 60% (with a custom ergo layout) and a split keyboard sounds like a great idea.

I’d love to try a Topre as well and Realforce sounds like a proper choice these days. Very happy to see this offer! :D

this would be probably better under "project or innovation" but if the project is from 2014 it would be too old for that too Yeah, initially I wanted to post it there, but then I thought of submitting it here as I didn’t see any actual age limit mentioned in the rules. I’m totally fine with it no b...

This might be a bit of a stretch, because the keyboard is less than two years old, but I propose The Other Half Keyboard (a.k.a. I didn’t realise that ergo keyboards qualify as “other input devices”.

In this case I’d like to propose Dactyl – a DIY parameterized, split-hand, concave, columnar, ergonomic keyboard – essentially a lovechild of ErgoDox and Kinesis Advantage :ugeek:
